VP that is excellent work. I say keep the symbol as is. From what I have seen in the past, the symbol as it appears in the comics, is like has been done previously in other comis as well, in that it is nothing more than a simplification?a short-hand?of the Autobot symbol done to make it easier to draw repeatedly. It isn?t an earlier version. In fact, if you look at page 4 from the Preview book?page 54 in the TPB? (the one where grimlock confronts Starscream, and some of their history together in the area is revealed) the last panel shows Grimlock with the proper Autobot symbol, not the simplified one.

Yeah, I decided to stick with the regular symbol. It just looks better to me. And you may be right about the symbol being drawn simplistically for the sake of making it simplistic. I went back and looked over the various issues of TWW and its not just the issue you pointed out, but several issues have the regular symbol drawn and not the simpler symbol. Even if the simpler symbol was drawn specifically for TWW (and not just to make it simple) it wouldn't be wrong to use the regular symbol since it was used in several of the issues too.
BTW, anyone have experience with yellow sprays? Most yellow sprays require alot of coats to have a nice covering. Krylon fusion yellow is crap. Unless the can I bought is defective, I can't get an even flow out and the spray coming out looks very diluted even after shaking vigorously for minutes.

I had the part mold casted in light yellow prior to painting and even that didn't work too well. Still required more coats than other colors so I doubt the white base coat would work. I mean the final result came out fine. Just that I don't want to apply 6 or 7 coats where other colors I only need about 3.

I do it all the time with my custom SW figures when I need yellow. A white base coat works, if it is a good opaque white. Then all to requires is a single coat of yellow, and it is very bright.

Sorry I probably wasn't clear. Normally white base coat would work if trying to use light colors such as yellow. But I think either I have a defective can or Krylon fusion yellow is that way but the spray comes out thin. Even spraying yellow on the yellow material I still needed to use alot of coats so spraying yellow on white probably wouldn't help in this case. I read somewhere someone else having the same problem with Krylon fusion yellow as well so I figured it may be the brand which is why I wanted to get input on any good brand of yellow.

A spray paint that dyes plastic? Tell me more. Though it probably won't dye resin but I'm still interested for future projects.

If you?re painting on white, you want the yellow to be a bit thin, that way it brings out the hightlights better and makes the yellow brighter and more vivid.
