Total shenanigans. The Smelting Pool gave a lot of XP away that was never actually earned in battle. More 'Cons and 'Preds must have chosen this easy way out. If you were able to take all that extra XP away, you'd get a real picture. Nowadays, due to the Smelting Pool, top X lists don't mean a thing in HMW.
Me, I never took part in the Smelting Pool. I remember being surprised when my team went from being the nr. 33 team to the nr. 75 team. That means at least 40 teams benefitted from the extra Smelting Pool XP.
That's an almost entirly irelivent point, as most (possibly all) of the current top 10 were already in the top 10 before the smelting pool happened. It'd be very surprising if *anybody* who spent enough time to get to the top 10 on this game would decide after all that work that they wanted to lose their place rather than get more xp to play with.

How is it irrelevant? I just told you that I moved down 40 places when the Smelting Pool started: that means 40 teams that were worse than me suddenly got better than me (at least, in XP). Still, it's true the teams that have always been in the top 10 certainly benefitted from the weak resistance a lot of Autobot teams gave after the reset. Back then it was the other way round: my 'bots were often the ones with most XP but also the mission losers. Still, back then I much prefered winning with less XP gained and quickly fighting again than loosing and waiting an hour.

Of course we all know that was just Alpha Strike trying to cover his own arse.

Cause I really don't see it happening.![]()

A Con will benefit from being outnumbered IF that Con is at a high level relevant to his opposing Bots. For example: a Con who is maxed out at L3 takes on multiple Bots who are weak L3s, the Con will gain a lot of XP for striking the L3 Bots, but his higher upgrades will help him stay in the fight long enough to make his defeat worthwhile from an XP standpoint.
If the Con is outnumbered AND is at a relatively low level, the con gets smashed quickly, obtains very little XP, and takes a nap for an hour.
It all depends on how strong the Con is relative to his opponent Bots. If you are an L3 or L4 Con, you should be in good shape.

The game is inbalanced, find the right configuration however and a level 2 and even a early level 3 can dominate in a 3:1 environment.

Amen to that.Burn wrote:The game is inbalanced, find the right configuration however and a level 2 and even a early level 3 can dominate in a 3:1 environment.

Yeah you do. Step on to many and they gum up the works in the joints.

True, but I don't feel guilty if it does happen.

Depends. The flavor varies from person to person.Sustain wrote:Absolute Zero wrote:Sustain wrote:Evil is much more fun if you ask me. I don't have to worry about stepping on fleshlings that go running around screaming.

That doesn't make you evil, it just means you lack emotional attachment to small creatures. I'm sure the autobots don't care about the insects that get plastered to their grills. Or the opossums they run over. Sure, Beachcomber might. But he's no more the standard for Autobots than Needlenose is the standard for Decepticons.
