If you need it to do something that bad when not combined it should make an excellent paper weight. Problem solved.

So... if you liked everything about this figure sans chestplate, you would still pass? Parts integration is that important to you?

Well it wouild have to be a fantastic figure for me to overlook a design flaw of that size. Combiner kibble that does nothing outside of the combined mode was acceptable in the 80s, but not in 2015. Hands and feet I can sort of accept, but anything else, no. Really, the chestplate shouldn't even be a separate piece.

I think calling that a "design flaw" is going way out of bounds. Obviously, the designer doesnt share your beliefs. It wasnt that he overlooked anything. All that extra fiddle play just raises the price. I would like FP Motormaster so much better if you didnt have to reconstruct half the trailer out of combiner parts. Its no fun. If I wanted a puzzle, I would buy Rubix Cube. I would rather just toss all that stuff in a box when I dont need it. I love what Toyworld did with their combiner. K.I.S.S.

Well... I hate to backtrack, but as a screenshot pointed out, they could be rather large. But I've also seen Abominus square off with Computron and they're the same size. So the cartoon isn't the be all end all. In my opinion, there is no be all end all for G1 scale debates. It's all subjective, so everyone should just make their own justifications and buy what they want. I did that when I started this whole 3P combiner ordeal.

Agree with what your saying, As I say it all the time here.

Sure there are other screen shots of different scenes and different episodes. that show different scales for the Terrorcons. in relation to the Technobots and other combiners team members.

Think G1 cartoon scale has got to be the worse thing to base any G1 Update new TF toys scales off. As most fans notice G1 TF cartoon characters scales change in almost every scene, episode and season.

What Toyworld did with their combiners was an absolute travesty and put me off both their Dinobots and their Throttlebots. Having that much useless combiner kibble is utterly unacceptable in 2015, especially when HasTak are doing such a good job with their combiners (even the hands and feet do stuff). Ordin is especially disappointing given that from the beginning it looked like they were going to properly integrate the parts, with the feet forming neat missile pods. But then they went and made the hands and the chestplate do nothing at all and it ruined it for me. If HasTak can do it I damn well expect it out of a 3P.

I know some simpletons may have difficulty coping with such intimidating concepts as "spatial awareness" and "not being a hamhands" but not all of us are total klutzes that can't handle any significant amount of engineering. Honestly X, with all your whining about how parts integration "ruins" figures, complaining about complicated engineering and general opposition to Transformers doing any actual transformation, I'm surprised you don't just collect non-transforming action figures and static versions of their alt modes.

DM, I know many of these figures are aspirational purchases for you, so it may be hard to truly understand how much of a b**** Fansproject Menasor is to transform, and how parts integration comes at the expense of playability and fun.

Diesel transformation: 45 minutes. CW Menasor transformation: 30 seconds.

I really don't care if the parts are super well integrated. I would prefer if they had some pegs so they can be carried on one of the figure's backs, but really that's all I require functionally, and even that's not a big deal.

Saying things are acceptable and unacceptable in absolute terms doesn't further the conversation any, so I would avoid those. These are toys homaging 80s toys. Should they be better? Yea. Do they need to integrate parts? Not necessarily - it depends how well it's done. Sometimes you want a weapon or hand or foot or chest plate that does that really well over a half measure in the name of integration.

For me, parts integration is not a black and white issue.

I prefer parts integration, and find that clever use of it improves the enjoyment of a figure for me. But if it is missing, that won't kill a combiner.

I'm still really into the Throttlebot combiner, even though it uses egregious amounts of kibble. But there, I look at the entire combiner mode as a bonus.

I'm still on the fence with this figure, but the more I see the more I like it.
It isn't perfect, and I was hoping one of the other companies might have announced the character by now, so we could have a few choices. But with Hasbro pushing the CW stuff, I assume the 3Ps will be slowing their releases of combiners, so that may not happen.

It seems to make some use of parts integration.
If it does not fully do that, oh well.

I'm not into Ordin, but I'm totally into Throttler.

The reason his size doesn't bother me is because he will likely remain un-combined, since no fiction supports it. But Throttler tickles me so well that I want a second set just for gestalt'ing. And in that instance his size won't matter since he'll essentially be a stand alone figure.

Ordin fits my preference for size with the rest of my classics figures.

And I am one who doesn't much care for MP's, though I do own several. I never cared for either of these to be included with Masterpiece because they are not toon accurate enough to fit with the few MPs I do have.

Toyworld Throttlebots are classics CHUG scale consisting of 5 deluxe figures and 1 voyager.

Ordin is debatable just like feral rex. If the combiner height scales with feral rex and hercules, then he will get a free pass as being CHUG since most people will display him in combiner mode. If he is warbotron height, then he will be MP scale. It all depends on the Hun-Grrr torso. Im waiting to see...

And again, it depends on individual preferences....

Why would we need to when apparently your arrogance has done that for us?

How can you be so fixated on size that you completely disregard design? While Takara are trying their best to get each Masterpiece figure to be in-scale with each other (mass shifting is a bitch), they also strive to recreate a look that says 'ripped straight from the G1 animation'. Neither Ordin nor Throttler fit that bill.

Meanwhile Classics figures neither religiously follow G1 accuracy nor scale. That's why Grimlock and Galvatron share a size class with Bumblebee and Powerglide towers over all of them.

If you want to put Throttler and Ordin with Masterpiece figures then that's your business, but don't make absolute statements as to which official Hasbro/Takara toy line they belong to. There's only one Ordin. One Throttler. Why do you have to prefix them with anything besides possibly the company that makes them?

Don't even know why this needs to be defined. As the 3rd party companies making UT Ordin and TW Throttler are calling these toys Mastyerpiece toys not CHUG toys.

The defination of a HasTak Third party toy. Is a bigger toy class than the original toy scale. Much more articulation, Higher sculpt. toys that look like they were sculpted for adults fans and not for young kids. Think UT Ordin team members and TW Throttler team members fit these requirements to get called MP TF toys.

The Orginal 1986 toys for the G1 Terrorcons were 4 Legends-basic class toys and one Deluxe-Mega clsss toy. These UT Ordin toys have Four Voyagers and One Ultra class toy. Coupled with high articulation and high sculpt makes them Masterpiece toys.

The Original 1987 Throttlebots were all legends-basic sized toys. so having over sized Five deluxes and one insane over sized Voyager. coupled with MP level articulated robot modes, high sculpt and engineering. more than makes these MP Level toys.
