Bad quality, small, and nothing special. But it made me feel good.
Anyone into their PCC sets, TRU are doing some interesting half-prices.
And still have the multi-buy offer going on too!
linketylinketylink.
also, might check that sale-ness out. but my local tru isnt terribly helpfully located.
Not sure what link you speak of..
So here's the thread.
And TRU is being annoying, so I can't link it.

Im back! Sorry about that, stayed away longer than I had planned but had an awesome weekend in Blackpool and fantastic days in Leeds (if youve never been, its great!). I wont go into it to much except played LOADS of games and consoles and ate alot of fish and chips! Yum! I did pick up something rather strange though which youll see later in the post. Lets see what I have missed.........
I see the email to Hasbro about forthcoming toy release was met with a resounding, lets fob them off to some other department. It'll probably do the rounds til someone can be bothered to answer it properly. But at least you got a reply Nova
Some Kapow Toys stuff discussion. Havent even looked at ANYTHING by them at all so I cant possibly comment on much. I still have alot of originals to get. But by what people have said about the joints on the Heavy Labor, oh dear is all I can say. Such a shame! Free replacement toys for all anyone?? =D!
HA = Human Alliances?? I dont have any of that either, and it doesnt interest me at the moment, obviously unless it went on sale. As for PCC - I have the majority of them from the TRU sale, used in conjuction with a 20% special discount voucher from the internet
Mr O! Im back!!! (thanks for thinking of me =D).
Va-al, nice display case and collection! Bigger isnt neccesarily better, in more ways than one "cough cough". =D. I need to get some for mine, my nemesis, DUST, is the bane of my life! Its also nice to see, that I hadnt relised, youre collecting in 2 different countries =D. Cover all your bases!
Riiiiiiiiiiiight, now to my sightings news, sort of! A friends dad gave me a whole box of TFers as he was having a clear out =D! How nice of him! Included, to mention a few (all G1), was a Hot Rod, Mind Wipe, Grimlock (yeah another one), Wreck Gar, Hound, a few headmaster heads, with alot of others! Was gobsmacked with the selection. None in mint condition, but still very lucky I think.
And now to the odd find, has anyone ever heard of a transformer called Carroll? LOL!

Its a KO of Arcee! And a pretty good one at that! I like how it has TRANS then formers in smaller font, a decepticon type symbol, and its HIGH class apparently
SORRY ITS LONG, IVE BEEN AWAY!

LINK!
I caved in and bought myself a PCC.
The only one in store today, Crankcase and Destron, and it was on a whim, so I might give it to my brother instead.
Ho-hum.

It will get to heated e-mails, then screwing each other's applications and ultimately hatred towards the winner.
(In my mind.)

Cheers! Deadline is February, so there's still time to go.
In the meantime, I have to read as many graphic novels as possible... for research purposes.
(Technically, half-Italian. I have two birth certificates, one per country.)
Oh and.. antidisestablishmentarianism.

One hopes.

Novas not leaving! You just couldnt do it could you
AP - maybe you can be the writer of said transformer course? It can go along with all those other weird ones, like star trek!!! LOL! And yeah the Spice Girls/David Beckham ones!
Vaal - A PhD in graphic novels>!?! Sounds awesome! But I must ask, what would you be 'discovering', like whats your question youre trying to answer? If there is one. And I totally agree, you got my vote against whoever it is youre 'fighting'
Antidisestab....! I think i prefer supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!! Great word right there! And wasp, do you do robotics then? Robots are AWESOME! And it is fortunately/unfortunately that is the future. I do want one of those robotic lawn mowers!
Did anyone watch the comic relief Mastermind special the other day?? If not, you should! Its on BBC iplayer for the next 4 days. Im saying because the Kiwi comidian Jarred Christmas' specialist subject was 'Transformers: The Early Years'. Never thought Id ever see that, EVER! He was mocked quite a bit to, poor guy. I managed to answer most of the questions aswell, surprised myself. Its made me want to watch the original movie again. Go check it out! Very funny!
About the TRU vouchers, there are several online voucher site that periodically release 'download and print' vouchers for all sorts of places. They vary from what they do like, percentages off certain lines of toys like Lego, but also there have been some 20% of all toys ones. You just have to keep checking up. If I find another one, I will most definately share it with you all! And for other places like supermarkets and Argos etc etc...
Is there anywhere on here, like on your profile, to upload pictures, without having to make a thread??
Hope all is well!!

Are there any that you can recommend, I havent read to many?
The big issue at the moment is whether Graphic Novels can be counted as literature.
A couple of critics (and there are just a handful, but growing bigger by the day) think that comics are just based on literature, another think of them as 'complex enough to be considered as such' and there are even those who believe they are more of a para-literature. Not exactly in it, not exactly out of it.
So far, this is what I have. But the tendency seems to be to create more and more a graphic world, based on literary ideas, quotes, characters and whatnot. The authors themselves are usually established writers (apart from the whole Transformers series. Seriously, good comics, but the prose, in my opinion, is awful). A really good series working on literary worlds/intertextuality/allusions and the relationship between comics and literature in The Unwritten, by our very own Mike Carey (other good titles for this: The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Maus, Blankets, Persepolis, Palestine, The Sandman, Fables, Lucifer).
But think about Batman characters such as the Mad Hatter, or Solomon Grundy, or even the Dark Knight himself. The closer you get to our day, the more and more literary allusions, quotations and references you get.
My specific focus might actually be Graphic Novels in Translation, as this is what I'm working with at the moment. There's a massive market outside U.S. and UK, even just within Europe, and most of the titles have never arrived over here!
Sorry, I got way too into this.
(If you're interested and around Norwich in the new year, I should be giving a talk on Myths, Mutants and Superhumans: Towards a Literature of Comics.)
