Same in Bedford.craggy wrote:TRU had F all in the way of proper AOE Transformers. Loads of one-steppers and Action Battlers and Shelfwarmers and stuff. the Magnus/Starscream FOC wave. AOE Construct-bots. A bunch of Prime shelfwarmers.
Spotted an odd one, as they are still trying to push the old DotM stock and this lil fella stood out!
The shelf had 5 of these, all of which 'sort of' appear repackaged or tampered? I dont know really.
There seemed excessive tape over the side-package flaps or none at all!
All had the correct figure and backing card but the "Mudflap" insert. I didnt note if they had the correct instructions?
Struck a deal with the missus and gained FoC Deluxe Sideswipe and Air Raid! Lovely jubbly!
PM ME PLEASE!-

They may be fun for what they are, but what they are is not their Generations counterpart. That's how I felt: I was ready to come home with significantly less money and more dinosaur robots, and was left with a bit of 'oh-well-ness'. (And exams to mark, to boot. Blurgh.)

I went hunting a couple of times last week, but all I've found AOEwise is in Smyths (Broadstairs) at the moment, and that is of course all the simplified cack.
BUT, I've been so hyped for this line I couldn't leave empty handed so I got the Grimlock one-stepper for some reason. Probably because I wanted a cyberverse one, and cyberverse is dead, so this kind of makes do?
Anyway I've bashed out a review if anyone's interested.

I have yet to trek all the way to my nearest TRU (Chatham) and grab anything decent, so it looks like I'm going to have to make do with gimmick guff for the foreseeable future.
I wouldn't mind it so much if they'd just tried to give them some meaningful articulation, I mean the old FABs still had legs. I'm kinda tempted by the punchy Crosshairs but he's got a massive wank arm and static legs, so I'll probably pass. Same can be said for all the others minus Strafe who actually seems a tiny bit ok and might find his way into my home.
I dunno man, I'm reallllllyyyy jonesin' for that Evasion Mode Optimus...

ohhh crikey... That'd be lurvely. I'm assuming it'd come to about £28, as the new RRP for voyagers is £25...
I have to say, I could get one from Taiwan for that price, but I ain't waiting no longer.
If they have one, then thank you, if they don't, then thank you anyway!

One positive though, I did get DOTM Voyager Skyhammer for just £6.49! He was the only one on the shelf and he scanned at the till as a Deluxe.

I've heard from a TRU employee someone up north spoke to and he says they are awaiting dispatch. They've got the stock codes for them and there are listings on the TRU site, but they've yet to actually hit the back rooms of any stores. Could be a couple of weeks, could be July since that's when Argos are getting their share of Generations in the Leaders.

I'm gonna have to get myself to the local TRU somepoint soonish to see if there's any nifty bargains like that-not been there in an age and they have a habit of having spare stock of old lines hiding away (not normally anything of note tbh)
waaaaghlord wrote:10 Air Steves and a couple of Insecticons out of Tesco today for the princely sum of £36.50. Army building goodness.
Getting the feeling I should find a Tesco with a decent toy section and all-still on just the one air steve, and haven't gotten an insecticon yet
The translucent predacon giftset is apparently half price too-is it recommended? I know that the cyberverse preds themselves are meant to be fantastic, and the haribo-ness of them doesn't put me off much, but you hear horror stories about clear plastic sometimes...
I'm also going to MCM comiccon in london this saturday, so who knows, I may return a few figures richer
