Yes, I have every single receipt
Yeah, but I agree with your parents; it'd be near impossible to replace. And the amount to replace != what they cost when you bought them, necessarily, because of value...I'm not sure receipts would do you much good; you'd need to get them appraised and insure for replacement value.
I agree with Dorkimus....
You know no matter how much I say that phrase in my head, it just doesn't sound right! I love your screen name though, very funny, and tricky at the same time.
I would definitely insure them, you could always sit back and start spending your money on having them Graded by the AFA and they will seal them in Plastic cases, and give a value based on that grading, which they will give you authentic paperwork to go with it, and you could take that to your insurance guy for a higher insured value. If a Fire or Theft ever hit, you'd be walking away with a small retirement! Not only that the Plastic cases will protect you bots very well, and AFA makes all kinds to fit any size.
DavidT your collection is wonderful, awhile back I got into the Hobby, and realized quickly that I wanted to have an MISB collection. Today I'm happily at 124 MISB Transformers, still in their beautiful boxes and on display in my room. I bought a couple of those long vertical hook racks, which have my Transformers with the hanging loops hung on them, and then I have a large Doublewide bookcase that houses the remainder of my collection. yours is very impressive and really shows how beautiful MISB really is. I'll post some images of my collection some time.
The most wonderful thing I have ever heard was that if you buy MISB Transformers and are very apt to want to open them, don't go and waste more money on another MISB, just try to find one that is Loose and complete, you'll generally pay much less for it, and still get the same effect. Ofcourse, if you like me, then you'll want another MISB, because you want to take great care not to move it too much to have loose joints! I just like the loose ones to pose on my "opened toys" shelf. MISB looks sooo Much nicer with all the art work, and sells for a much higher price, and values higher in your collection.
Your collection is similar to a store, but to me it's artwork, too bad those Beasties had to be stored, I'm a Beast Wars fanatic!
Nice Job!!
