Next weekend is Valentine's Day! Let's hear those stories, be it some prose you wrote to your sweetie or the pain of love recently lost.
I usually buy flowers for my two kids as has been tradition for many years. My spouse will be on the other side of the world. A male friend of mine from college will send me an annual e-card, this is all rather routine.

Not really into holidays of fake saints. Not when there's St Modomnoc Day (Patron Saint of Beekeeping in Ireland) to celebrate. Or St Agatha's day (she died having her breasts chopped off and the illiterate French didn't get that she was normally depicted holding her severed breasts so in France she's the patroness saint of bakers, because I guess they look...like...pastries?) Not that they're any more 'real', these saints, but at least they're more gruesome, which in my book is close enough as makes no nevermind.
Best 'love' story I can contribute (since someone should honor the intent of your post!) is that I was a total fan of a certain writer. I adored his stuff. I *teach* his stuff, for heaven's sake. Turns out he teaches where a good friend of mine teaches. Introductions were made, hasty courtship including, of course (if you know me, it's an *of course*) large caliber weaponry (you know a man loves you when he brings out his Dirty Harry gun for ya), and the rest, as they say, is schnookums history.

I was up all the night before and all the weekend drawing the album cover for "Creatures of the Night" By KISS, to give to my ex, and Damn it looked cool, but when I gave it to her, she didn't take it. 
To be honest, she ripped it up! All that work, wasted! Speaking of wasted, I also drew a picture of Ace Frehley and gave it to my Language/Reading teacher, you know, the one who looks like Sailor Neptune, and she loved it! Although I didn't get my KISS Dolls, I did get an AM/FM Radio/Alarm clock/iPod speaker, a chocolate dog, and a Mario shirt.

I had a decent evening with my gf. Out for diner ata nice restuarant. Then we went to the movies but i made the mistake of seeing "shes just not that into you" so my gf was pissy at me all the rest of the night lol
