Correction, they mean nothing to you and mr optimus prime. If Transformers mean nothing to you, then why are you on a transformers forum talking about transformers toys?RK_Striker_JK_5 wrote:medabotsoundwave wrote:Blurrz is right, we should be thankful. Hasbro decides wether or not to actually make the figures. They didnt even have to make a straxus figure. He came from the COMICS! They didnt have to make toys from this line anyway. Hasbro didnt even have to continue classics after the first year (2006-2007) They even said because of the enormous popularity, they would be continuing it. Its got 2 other continuations. And Mr optimus prime, if you want WWI toys, go out and buy the Titaniums, and then tell us what you think.
And again, no. We don't have to be thankful for these figures. I won't be buying them, or the game. They mean nothing to me and to others.

This line means nothing to me!

I for one am not a fan of these designs but I'm not going to bash Hasbro for it. My beef is with Activision. No one can deny that Activision have developed an aggressive strategy for trying to make as much money as possible, with their two biggest titles receiving new instalments annually. It looks like Transformers may be getting this treatment too. With the Revenge of The Fallen game last year, and the game for the third movie in the series next year, War For Cybertron is essentially a stopgap, and I won't be surprised it's very similar in design and gameplay to RoTF, i.e. CRAP! I'm not going to slag anyone off for saying they enjoyed RoTF (it's your opinion), but it IS a bad game.
I know Hasbro probably helped with the designs of the Transformers for War For Cybertron, but the fact that the only ones to have been confirmed as receiving toys are all deluxe class says to me that Hasbro aren't that invested in the game. Activision are the ones who wanted to make a game based on Hasbro's property, but Hasbro aren't going to miss an opportunity for some free marketing. Of course they're going to make the figures. If you like them, good. Your collection is going to be bigger than mine. If you don't like them, fine. We'll save our money for something else. IT'S PERSONAL TASTES!!
However, RK_Striker_JK_5 is right. We do not need to be thankful. Hasbro GIVE us nothing. We pay for their products. No company runs there business for the sake of satisfying their customers. They operate in order to make profits for their shareholders, but it just so happens that the best way to do this is to appeal to their customers with variety and quality. That's business. Now let's all hug and be friends!

If you want to be a peacemaker you might want to get your facts straight. I'm not going to point out your errors because they're obviously from someone who hasn't been following anything. Opinions may be of equal value but in no way am I going to agree with someone who thinks these designs are crap. Sorry, that's just my business.

It's a bit much to make a point about personal taste and then present your own opinion as fact. If you look at the reviews of the ROTF game, they rate it mediocre at worst. So based on this evidence it is not a bad game, but an average single player game boosted by an enjoyable online element.
Sodan-1 wrote:tie-in games do have a well deserved reputation of being half-arsed cash-ins, hence the consistently mediocre scores. When a game is made with money in mind, it's never as good as it could be. After watching a couple of gameplay trailers, I do think I might have been a bit quick to judge. As much as I want this game to be great, I'm not holding my breath. I hope I'm wrong.
