Don't blame me

Postby OptitronPrime » Tue Dec 11, 2007 7:14 am

Iknow people are going to hate me for saying this but I think the animated line looks better than the classics line. By comparing the new animated Voyager Prime to classics voyager Prime, I think Animated looks better. Classics Bee and Animated no contest Animated all the way. Cybertron and Earth mode Megs looks better than classics, and don't be going around saying 'oh why they make him a stupid osprey I heard he was going to be a weapon' because you didn't hear that Megs hasn't been a gun since G1, and frankly an Osprey is something new and origial

No tthat that is saying much ofcourse, but I agree.

Really a knock on Classics more than an endorsement of the animated.

I have to say that some of animated designs do look better than the classic figures but that is because they were only the first generation of classics. I figure that as we get more classics they will look better, and have wider style of vehicles avaliable.

Every body knows one thing I hate by now and it starts with an a, every body should know one thing I love by now and it starts with an c.

I hate animated, I may buy a couple figures every here and there, but I do not enjoy what they have done to the characters. Chin scream in no way is any better than classics Starscream, classics Bumblebee is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than animated Bumblebee.

And also, even though I highly disagree with your opinion, I do not hate you.

I respect everyone's opinion but I guess none of us including me can say anything about the Animated toys yet since they're not even out. The only thing we know right now is how they look

I like the look (overall) of the animated toys, but I think it's a bit of a stretch to say they are better than the classics.

There were some weak classics (the seekers... and nost of the rest of the Decepticons), but there'll be soem weak animated tfs too.

And that's why you are a noob.

I said it.

You're making unfounded opinions on toys that you have never touched, let alone transformed.

Given, animated may be the be all end all for you. But for a lot of people here and elsewhere, it isn't.

You'll have to excuse me, but I had enough with people claiming the movie line was teh roxxorz.
Yes, it's a good line. But that doesn't mean that it's the pinnacle of transformer design and function.

And on a sidenote, I think animated Bee sucks ass. He has a pudding head for christ's sake.

I'm just saying that it LOOKS better from what we've seen so far. I'm not actually talking about the quality of the toy. You guys should read a bit more carefully. And for youur F.Y.I. I'm saying the Animated toys look better than the classics that are released right now

The movie line was aweful. It really really is. This is why a lot of people (myself included) are getting very excited about animated, becuase it's obviously more 'transformers like' than the wankfest that is/was the movie line.

how was the movie line awful? Sure we got some lame figures, but show me one line that dosen't. 09 Movie BB > Animated BB. And the animated line IMAO is less tf like than the movie. They're suppost to be robots not humans. No robot is that flexable

Alright, I gotta say this.....
I love TFs, in every incarnation, but the point is.....
THEY'RE CHILDRENS TOYS.
I'll admit there are those collectable figures, and discluding statues it remans though, it's a toy.

I'm not gonna compare any line to any line, because as the series changes so will the toys, so you can't compare them when they aren't meant to be.

I bet this sounds anti-TF, doesn't it?
Well hopefully not, because I am trying to defend what we've been given. Can we for once be happy with what we have?

I find it's better not to go too in depth with comparing and examining these figures. At the end of the day, if it's a character I like and it looks good I'll buy it.

I couldn't care less if they have fifty thousand points of articulation or none at all. If they look fugly like so many of the movie toys do, I won't buy them.

Animated toys may look cartoony, but I'm going to buy Starscream and Megatron because I think they look good and their depictions in the pilot have been superb. I won't buy the animated Autobots because they look and act lame.

Inferiority or superiority to another line has nothing to do with it.

Thank you for finally stopping this argument.I've decied to become a completist(at least for future TF lines) and not care about how the toys look or how poseable they are.

But why waste money on crappy looking toys? Most tf collectors need to have the feeling that when they look at a tf on their shelf they can say they're glad they bought it.

The Classics are awesome. Every one I get I end up just loving. Great designs, great transformations. In my opinion Classics Skywarp is THE Skywarp I wanted as a kid. They're G1 but they're better designed, more posable, etc.

Some of the Animated toys look really cool. I'm sure I'll get the Voyager Prime, Megatron, Starscream and Soundwave when they come out. But too many off them just look too silly to me. Bulkhead especially.

I do think Classics BB looks cooler then Animated BB, though animated BB does look pretty neat.

Soundwave FTW, Rocking a Lazerbeak guitar!

I think one of the things that is getting overlooked, too, in this comparison is that the Classics lines had to adhere to the general look and feel of the G1 counterparts. Now there were quite a few liberties taken in the 1st wave of Classics and I expect more of the same from 2.0, but the Animated line has more creative license than the Classics line in terms of redoing certain characters(just look at Prowl for instance).

All in all, at the end of the day, can we agree that Classics, uh, 1.0, was a good line with a few underachievers that gave us updated G1 characters while Animated hopefully will be a good line with inevitable duds that is a new direction in TF design?
