How is Classics Prime?
I've seen ones all over Ebay for pretty reasonable prices, so I'm wondering, is he worth buying? Im talking about the single one, and or the one that comes partnered with Megatron
thanks!
thanks!

I was Okay with the one that comes with Megatron, but judging by the amount of people who don’t like him, I would tell you to think on him. As for Voyager Prime, he’s great and there’s no other way to describe him. There is a gallery of both figures if that would help.

You mean this guy:

For future Reference, he is Deluxe Classics Optimus Prime.
I have to be honest and tell you his truck mode sucks big time.
However his robot mode is exceedingly nice.
Many joints with meaningful articulation, a really cool gun.
The Head is a little iffy, big eyes and all that, but he does look nice in Robot mode. His Truck mode, is probably the weakest truck mode any prime has ever had.
Still I keep him in robot mode. and love his posability.

Okay, this is the part that has me confoosed...
Anywho, as Overcracker has already given a good review of the 2 pack Megatron vs. Optimus pack, i'll give a short comment about the Voyager Classics Prime.
Voyager Prime (which I do not own, I own his twin, Ultra Magnus) Is a nice figure, there are no if, but's or maybe's about it, the truck mode is impressive and very solid. His robot mode is also very much distinctly Prime. The only flaw the toy has is the large tabs of plastic that stay attached to his arms in robot mode.
Yup thats it, one teensy little flaw with the figure. Damn worth a purchase.
Awesomesauce; Use it, you know you want to.

Classics Voyager Prime = Great prime, very solid and poseable overall. crazy amount of articulation. downside? if you can live with forearm shields, you'll never regret buying this guy.
all the comments above are the HUMBLE OPINIONS of the said user only. 'nuff sed.

I simply detest Deluxe Prime. Voyager is much better by far. In robot mode, his waist turns around waaaay too easily. Also, there's just something I don't like about his eyes. They're just really, really big. Almost big-like. Voyager Prime is just mcuh better IMHO.

Pull the black tab on his back OUT. It locks the "Spinning action" and makes the figure much better, and solid.

Ah cool I didn't know that I put a piece of paper in his back so he would stop spinning around
One thing that I like about Deluxe Prime is Classic Jetfires helmet fits him perfectly

If you want a really good Prime, then you can't go wrong with Classics Voyager Prime.

If you want Something Smaller, then I suggest Cybertron Repaint of Armada Bendy Prime. He's a very nice looking and poseable Prime. And is leagues better than the Classics Deluxe I pictured earlier. And should still be relatively easy to find.

Unless you really like Classic Deluxe Prime's Robot mode, I strongly suggest you stay away from him.

Just to clarify... is DELUXE Classics Prime what other people call Sucktimus Prime? The one with the spinning waist action? I'd always thought the only Prime in the Classics line was the Voyager... this is a damn good figure and I can't wait for mine to arrive. I can't believe he's stil $19.95 and actually available! Looks good, poses good... only thing I might do is paint out his shield white stripe. Don't like that.

Voyager, the alt mode is unrealistic, and lack of tow hitch sucks, but bot wise, outside of arm kibble, He kicks ass.
As for the 2 pack smaller version, once again the alt mode sucks, but the bot is fun(just remember to turn off that spinning feature). Also becareful cause he can come in half. He goes right back together, and it makes for cool battle damage, but still
Either way, get them both!

If you want an awesome classic version of Prime. Get the Classics Voyager of course, he's awesome.
Also, wait for 20th Anniv. DVD Prime to go on clearance at Walmart. It's going to happen eventually. It's basically the same figure as Masterpiece Prime. There are only minor differences ... the transformation process is exactly the same.

Yes, there are 2 Optimus Primes in the Classics Line.
Just To Clarify:
Yes Deluxe Classics Prime is the one with the Waist... Well Upper Chest spinning action. This one:

Voyager Classics Prime is the better Prime,. With a Better Looking Alt mode this one:

Yep, it's been warming the shelves since they increased the price from $50 to $70. My local Walmart has a crapload of them still, but I do see them disappearing off the shelves of other WM's.

I have both the Voyager and the two-pack Classics Prime, and I can recommend both.
It's true that the deluxe one is pretty short and his truck mode is sucky, but he's very clean-cut in robot mode and actually the more posable one of the two (once you figure out that his spinning action can be locked).
Now, they voyager's strong point lies in his weapons. The smokestacks and the windvane become separate guns which can be attached in more than one way and even combine as shoulder cannons. Lots of fun !
I also love that the two, like most Classics figures, actually have detailing behind their windshields in form of seats and even a steering wheel on the voyager. In my opinion, this adds a lot to the alt mode.

I quit collecting back in 1988, but when I saw Classics Voyager Optimus Prime, I bought it. That figure was the beginning of my new collection and I liked it quite a bit. But honestly, now that I have Encore Optimus Prime, I don't care as much for Classics Prime.
