Yeah. Corvettes are traditionally red, or yellow. It's an interesting twist that this one should be silver, and yet, falls on an Autobot character that is traditionally red.

Sideswipe's not a corvette. Sideswipe's not red. Sideswipe doesn't use swords. Blah blah blah blah - for Christ sake, it ain't news that this isn't a G1 movie. How many characters have reused the same names from G1 that were, essentially, transferred onto whatever show they were in?

Megatron? Tankor? Starscream? Hot Shot? Optimus Prime (or Primal?) Soundwave? Prowl? Ravage? Arcee? SIDESWIPE <--- all these names reused on characters who may, OR MAY NOT have bore ANY resemblance to the original G1 namesake. Still, they were accepted as such. So what's the difference here? Is it just that people want to find some excuse to complain about ****?

LOL as long as they have many of the real Transformers in the movie, then I may support it. Although, I don't know much about the Sideswipe fellow. I don't remember any of the episodes he was in. He looks like one of the real Transformers though. His color doesn't matter, Ironhide and Ratchet changed so its cool.

Watch the extras on the Special Edition DVD and you'll Bay talk about how red is a hard color shoot. That's why Prime wasn't all red.

LoL man those aren't the pics of the figures. That's an entirely different (kinda old) newspost,this newspost is about Devastator,Megatron and Optimus' figures. Which i doubt there are any pics of.

"My best guess is that because Bay likes muscle cars as much as he does, it's possible that he's decided to put Sideswipe and Sunstreaker in the sequel. However, in the extra's disc I have, it is mentioned that Michael Bay had explained the difficulty in filming RED anything. So there was a compromise with Hasbro so that the RED would be minimized in vehicle form but would be the main color for Prime chest. This might also explain the color change for Ironhide.

Now, unless he's changed his mind or technology has improved enough to where filming RED isn't an issue, I'd assume that if Sideswipe were in this film, he wouldn't be RED.

I think that Sideswipe and Sunstreaker are both Corvette's. Sunstreaker being the yellow Corvette and Sideswipe the silver one. Just remember you heard it here first."

I said this 6/14/08 on another forum and boy, am I glad my favorite character has been confirmed in the sequel. I've been out-of-the-loop so to speak, so I'm not sure if the Yellow Corvette is even around anymore but I really hope it is.

Thank the maker! Someone else actually watched and paid attention to this information! G1 characters that were originally RED weren't RED in the first movie and won't be RED in the sequel!

This trend started with Prime and Ironhide and will now continue with Sideswipe. If Cliffjumper makes it into the third movie, chances are, he won't be RED!

Sideswipe is in the sequel? Awesome. My favorite Transformer ever. Somewhat disappointed he's not red, but Universe Sideswipe makes up for it. And you know they're going to repaint the toy anyhow. Two swords? Hope he kicks a lot of ass in the movie.
