AS for the weapons: i would really like them by themselves in that style. I like how they work and it would be cool to see some combiners holding those massive swords

Except Arcee's cleaver won't fit the original mold's hands. I still don't know why Hasbro didn't always mold Arcee's hands for standard 5mm weapons. Then the weapons would also be molded correctly, and Chromia could hold the pistol that comes with Arcee. Of course I would have preferred Chromia come with a second pistol to begin with just like PRID Arcee should have come with two blades, but that's Hasbro...

Not necessarily for the actual original robots parse, but for other big bots, like giving Menasor that massive meat cleaver or Optimus Maximus a giant sword

Ah, I see what you mean. It's unfortunate the gestalts aren't getting nice large melee weapons. Sure the G1 toys had guns, but they updated (in a strange way) the Stunticons individual weapons and still game Menasor a sword. I just don't get Hasbro at all.

Menasor's does work out pretty well, but Victorion wins in regards to combiner weapons. That the 6 weapons combine and make 7 badass weapons is just great all the way around
