This is the color variant. The SS86 version of Blaster was a hard-to-find Target exclusive. The Kingdom and Legacy versions were mass retail.

This is the color variant. The SS86 version of Blaster was a hard-to-find Target exclusive. The Kingdom and Legacy versions were mass retail.

Only Toys R Us had it in Canada. And like all of their Transformers, it was 15% more expensive than the normal price.
So, nope.

I get it that maybe this was more difficult to find than regular Blaster, but it wasn't as bad as Cosmos was. SS86 Blaster also had a limited amount of preorders on Pulse did they not? I didn't have quite the issue getting Target Blaser that I did others. Plus, wasn't it just last year? I don't understand how one item will have an immediate turnaround like this one while others were a much longer wait. But whatever, as long as people who missed it can now get it much easer.

Thrust was very limited & sporadic. Same with chonky boy Cosmos.
Blaster was not an exclusive to Target, thank goodness.

I just transformed the SS Leader AoE Optimus. The bot looks good, but the kibble management is still cancerous. The transformation, however, is very interesting and appart some panels massage at the end, it was easy enough to figure out.

Still, like Bee Concept Megatron, ROTB Primal/Apelink, he does not feel like a leader. It is more like an "Ultra" class, when there was something between Voyager and Leader.

Still, TBH, the old leaders from 2007, ROTF and DOTM could count as Commanders nowadays.

Thanks to the fact that it was 25% off from Prime Day at Amazon.ca, I finally got myself the Devastation Optimus Prime. He's big enough for a deluxe and the bot look pretty nice... from the front.

This deluxe have the ugliest weapon I've ever seen. I find his butt-scrap kibble to be an eyesore and the truck's look is ruines due to those ugly side panels. Also, what's up with that giant-ass trailer hitch? I bet there's something planned for it in the future.

Anyway, compared to the top deluxe Optimus contender, the Earthspark one, the Devastation is a failure. At around 10$CAN more expensive than the ES, the Devastation fails to be better.

The ES have a more original bot mode, and he's a bit more fun to transform. The truck looks amazing from all angles and even his hunchback-bacppack loos more streamline that whatever torture device Mr Devastation carries on his butt.

Overall, D. Optimus isn't horrible, but there's better deluxe Optimusses out there. Like the G1 Universe one.

It's been a minute, but I've got another Studio Series custom with KSI Widow!

To talk about the base figure a little bit, I think it's super cool in both concept (pun not intended) and execution! Mapping the concept art design onto the McLaren seen on-screen is a really awesome way to build out the movie cast, kinda like what they did with some of the older movie toys, giving on-screen vehicles robot modes. The actual figure itself has some very nice kibble management by folding the whole top of the car into the legs and does a good job of evoking that original concept art!

This figure makes me really interested in seeing not only our remaining KSI drones in Studio Series, but also more Bayverse concept art characters. Bring on ROTF Springer!

Jet mode is fine, robot mode, is pretty good, though the lack of ankles, waist and wrists is kinda a bad.

All in all, not sure this a recommendable figure.

I popped off a lot off things the first few times. Friction hinges! Gotta love them.

honestly, its an interesting transformation, but its really fiddly, and you need to get the legs perfectly aligned and tabbed in to tab in the thrusters right, or the blue panels won't tab in correctly, and then the arms won't tab in correctly either.

The nose cone and cockpit assembly is kind of awkward to get into chest mode and out of chest mode, I keep popping off the canopy because I pull on it wrong.

I like the jet mode, and the robot mode, though the lack of waist is criminal in this day and age.

Maybe if I transform him a few more times, it will get less annoying.

This may be your best work to date. Especially with the car mode that is spray-painted/airbrushed, giving it a much cleaner look that any paint brush could ever achieve.

Yeah, the base orange color is actually really nice! I felt bad painting over it but I really wanted to try that metallic orange paint I found xD

Yeah, paint brushes for the bot, spray for the vehicle exterior. Unless one go for a damaged and rusty look.
I noticed something else when using spray paint. Being patient enough to let it dry and harden in order to not dirty or smear the paint is mandatory. I learned this the hard way. And damn, the wait is painful!

Cybertron 21 has uploaded 360 defrees videos of the upcoming wave of deluxe Transformers Studio Series figures. Those would be TLK Barricade, 86 Windcharger and TFOne Airachnid. This gives us a good look at the compromises for Airachnid and a great look at her alt mode.

Windcharger is pretty much perfect, as expected.

As for TLG Barricade, he's making a the face of someone who is pretty happy to witness the reaction of all the people stuck with him in the elevator where he just farted.
