Video Review of Transformers Generations War for Cybertron Earthrise Deluxe Class Cliffjumper
- Motto: ""A mountain with a wolf on it stands a little taller."

We've got some exciting news for all you Seibertronians today! Many of you have let us know that PrimeVsPrime on YouTube has upload a video reviewing the all new Transformers: Generations - War for Cybertron Trilogy - Earthrise Deluxe Class Cliffjumper! Thanks to Lord Chaonix, Kaynowa, and PrimeVsPrime for this scoop! The review covers the conversion from vehicle mode to robot mode, which contains a surprising step in the process, along with demonstrations on how to configure the very modular accessory pieces in both modes, and some size comparisons with other contemporary Transfromers releases, including MP-45 Bumblebee and WFC-S65 Voyager Class Classic Animation Optimus Prime. Take a look at the review for yourselves down below.
What do you think of this new Earthrise Deluxe Class Cliffjumper mold? This is the first time in a long while that a figure has been designed to be G1 Cliffjumper from the ground up, rather than a repaint of Bumblebee or a reuse from another continuity's version of Cliffjumper. Let us know your thoughts in the comments that follow, and stay tuned to Seibertron.com for the latest news in all things Transformers!

Geez Cliffjumper's small! I mean, I like it, it works very well, but I was also expecting him to be slightly taller than that. Still really excited for the figure though

The smaller, the better, I say. Makes it easier for him to scale correctly with the Legends Class figures from Thrilling 30 and the Prime Wars Trilogy. Anyone got a picture handy of Titans Return Bumblebee next to Siege Voyager Optimus Prime?

PrimeVsPrime has to be on Hasbro's payroll. Every single review he does of a Hasbro Transformer; you would think it's the greatest toy ever made in the history of the universe. Sure they are decent toys. But "absolutely perfect; phenomenal; sublime" are not words that apply to them.

I don't care about the guy's exuberance. I care about whether or not I like the figure based on what he shows. I actually expect exuberance (whether or not I agree with it).

How do people feel about the parts-forming rear end of the car/backpack of robot mode? I wouldn't mind it as much if the back end turned into a useable shield or something, a la Titans Return Brawn, but it's pretty much just back kibble and nothing else of note.

I mean, I'll be honest, I'm not happy with it, but I can also see a potential shield. It's not great, but it's not a deal-breaker to me because at least it can store in robot mode. If it had nowhere to peg in robot mode, then I'd be a little more annoyed with it

It looks like a usable shield to me. I don't mind the parts forming, especially when useful and besides it looks good pegged into his back.Sentinel_Primal wrote:I mean, I'll be honest, I'm not happy with it, but I can also see a potential shield. It's disappointing to me with the partsforming, but it's not a complete deal-breaker. I'll be way more upset if Cliffjumper is still grossly oversized compared to the T30/CW/TR/PotP Legends Class figures.

Looks great but I am not digging that partsforming backpack.
Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).

That'll be the real tragedy. With the size comp to Siege Prime, CliffyJ appears to be just a bit taller/bigger than a legends figure.Wolfman Jake wrote:It's disappointing to me with the partsforming, but it's not a complete deal-breaker. Of course it's hard to get a good sense of scale at these different perspectives. Bee comes right up to the bottom of Primes crotch where it appears that Cliffjumper comes up to the top of the blue square codpiece.

If the difference is really just a few millimeters, we can probably cheat Cliffjumper just a bit shorter, enough to fit in with the old Legends figures, by bending his knees slightly or finding some other "mistransformation" trick to reduce his height just enough.

That reviewer was pretty bad but hey, at least the figure might not be much bigger than a legends figure which is the deciding factor for me on him rather than the price point for a change.
The parts forming is pretty odd because its not as though the chest is accurate to have an excuse for parts forming to make things more accurate.

Why are they always giving the newer G1 style Cliffjumpers and Bumblebees those horrible clown feet?

Partsforming, huh?
Well ... I already have a Cliffjumper in storage. Maybe I'll just get a figure I'm totally happy with.

Well this review just reinforced that I don't want Cliffjumper because he just isn't for me. I really like the engineering present here, I love the little dedicated tabs and such for his weapons in alt mode and his transformation looks more involved and fun than I expected, but I just am not a fan of his G1 design, it's too bland for me and I don't really want any Deluxes shorter than Refraktor. Maybe I'd get it as one of the Wrecker-aligned fellows who use this body-type, although I don't know what kind of accessories they'd have, but as of right now I don't really want this.
I'd also like to say that the "partsforming" on the back isn't really an issue for me, I don't really consider just one piece coming off to be partsforming. The fact that it has three posts on the back of it means it should absolutely be usable as a shield, and this probably will make it easier for them to remold that back of the car so any retools of the figure aren't limited to having the same exact alt mode. Plus I don't really see how they could have made it not come off without having to hamper the waist articulation of the figure by having it attach there via a strut of some kind, or by drastically changing how it transforms.

I imagine it's because, being based on G1 designs, their feet are usually the front bumper of their alt-mode, so it's probably difficult to get the proportions to look good as both the front of a car and feet.

Bigger feet should also make him more stable. Most figures now have heel-tabs, but his transformation works differently.
I'm surprised that so many people are disappointed; CJ is the major missing piece of my minibots collection, and this figure looks like a near-perfect fit. I'm not going to sweat a quarter of an inch.
Only things that could make it sweeter are a Hubcap repaint and a new Huffer mold.

pretty happy about Cliff's size. But regarding the minibots, I really feel Warpath and Huffer need appropriate updates. (In Warpath's case, i wouldn't mind a more traditional deluxe size since I always saw him as the largest of the minibots. And It's been quite a a while since Gears was released, so maybe throw him a bone too.
