Hey all. I've been meaning to start a thread about this show as it is definitely one of my favorite animated shows of all time. Just curious what everyone's favorite episodes. Mine are:
1. I Am the Night. I sometimes wonder if anything I ever do has any meaning or impact; and so this episode is really encouraging to keep on fighting the good fight.
2. Heart of Ice. After watching this episode, it's really hard to say that Mr. Freeze is a "bad guy"; you just feel sorry for him. That's good writing.
3. On Leather Wings. The episode that started it all. The animation of the "man-bat" transformation and the fight scene that follows is amazing!
4. His Silicon Soul. Batman vs. Terminator-Batman!
5. Vendetta. I just really like this episode, I'm not entirely sure why--it's dark and sort of a detective mystery. I also think it's because Croc is twice the size of Batman, and the fight scene inside Bullock's car and in the sewers is epic.

Burn:Anyone notice how much of a boring party pooper N_V is? He doesn't join in the fun, he's spent the last few years with dodgy builds feeding XP to the Autobots, and he sure as heck doesn't spam.

Ahh...Feat of Clay, definitely a great two part episode; with some spectacular animation of Clayface morphing into various people and objects.
And you can't go wrong with Adam West as the Grey Ghost! The thing I really like about this episode is Bruce Timm's cameo appearance as the villain of the story.

1. Heart of Ice - best Batman episode ever (second only in the DC animated universe after JL: Hereafter).
2. The Clock King - favourite Batman villain.
3. Two Face -the two-part episode, very good writing.

I really wouldn't be able to decide. I have a fondness for scarecrow's first appearance and Mr. Freeze's as well. I think my personal favorite is the one where the villains capture Batman and put him on trial for creating them.

Re: Favorite Batman the Animated Series Episode?
1. Two-Face: Impactful ebcause Dent had been established as a character, even though he was only in 2-3 episodes beforehand. Makes him mroe tragic and sympathetic because you know the good man is still there but the darker persona is more dominant.
2. Robin's Reckoning. You learn about Robins origins and it was the actual story from the comic. This was Robin at his best and he made his parent's killer terrified of him.
3. Demon's Quest: Batman's first encoutner with Ra's Al Ghul (and his only epic encoutner with the villain), who appears as a friend only he kidnapped Robin to test Batman, looking for a successor. And then learn he's a genocidal madman wanting something good but through terrible means.
4. Heart of Ice: Mr. Freeze's origin. Shows he is a victim of corruption but his state causes him to lose most sense of morality and choose vengeance over justice.
5. Mudslide: Batman's seoncd and what was supposed to be final confrontaiton with Clayface with a tragic ending that was later retconed.
And anything with the Joker. Joker was done very well since he was clearly made out to be a badguy but you could laugh at the hijinks invovled. Of course, though Batman won't laugh at anything the Joker does, he will laugh or take amusement at sticky situations the clown gets into.

Heart of Ice and Almost Got' Im are my two personal favourites.
I do like the Legends of the Dark Knight episode from later in the run where you get the Dark Knight Returns Batman portrayed by Michael Ironside.
Lots of fun.
