Sorry if this is a sore subject or not the right place for it, I just decided to log back in after not playing for yeeeears, and it seems like the game/forums for it are a ghost town, what'd I miss?

A couple years back we had a large group trying hard to revive it.
Despite Burns best efforts there was only so much that could be done & we failed to motivate Ryan into giving a damn.

Yyyeah, as far as I can see the last dev activity was late 2018, and the current game itself looks to be pretty much the 1.8 version from... I want to say 2005-ish?

I had the same reaction on getting back in recently - very few low level bots to fight, a number of maxed-out old troopers still grinding away, and not much enthusiasm to be found in the forum. It's a shame

I pop on a few times a day during the week as a quick distraction from work.

EDIT:

Wanted to add, I do have 6 bots that are level 5-6 if that would help anyone else out. The rest of mine are 8-9 and I'm usually fielding those

EDIT 2:

Ok, well unless I hear otherwise for people wanted some 5-6 Autobots either as support or to beat upon, I'm going to keep fielding my 8's and 9.

I've been dropping 3 of my 'big' toons and 3 of my smaller ones into the pool at the same time. Give 3 8-9's and 3 5-6's while they're in the mix.

Is that working out for everyone?

I just always expect to get beat down, so a win or exp for me is a bonus either way.

I pop on every once in a while. While it would be fun if the game was improved a bit, I don't think this game will generate any significant user base, given the ubiquity of other online media. That being said, the same is what gives this game it's charm. It's a time capsule to the Internet of 20 years ago. I remember, as a freshmen in college, when I found this website, logging on in the campus cafe to play in between classes and nights on the forums here. Hell, how many people even use forums anymore? I'm probably overthinking, but just being here reminds me of the old Internet, and there's not a lot of places like that anymore.
