additional admin powers for Mkall!
or Caelus, or both.
right, i think we can all agree that we need someone to fill the hole left when OS is doing his dayjob, sorting out the new applicants for the clan forums, updating the HMW front page, refilling armour, someone who can sort out all the crap so that when OS does get back all he has do what he does best; programme, not run the silly forum!
seems like a good idea to me at least.

The clan leaders are the ones who should have control over their membership.
Likewise the HMW front page should be done by the leaders of that faction.

From what I was told by OS several weeks ago, he is designing something fur the clan mods where we will be able to admit and boot anyone in the subfactions but not the factions as a whole. As of right now, that is the most that can be done. If you are referring to people wanting to switch in game to their desired faction, that is still OS's job only and doubt we will see any of the other HMW Mods getting that ability. I'm not really sure what to think of the front page idea unless OS makes a front page for each side and then maybe we could have a little bit more to do with that.

To clarify: Yes, the command bulletin is what I was reffering to for the faction leaders when I said HMW front page.

hmm an interesting idea, something that has been looked into for all levels.
As stated before, eventually powers to change the faction announcement board will probably be reserved for the admins of HMW, when V2 coms around, as well as the faction commanders. Sorta makes sense really when ya think about it. Admins can deal with global deals while the Faction Commanders can announce operations or awards or various conquests that arise during the duration of the war. However admin powers for the global mods such as Mkall, Caelus and myself, yes even I, will be limited to various aspects. Primarily keeping things PG-13 and of course playing Guardians and bailing out the weaker factions.

Actually I was thinking of Maximals and Predacons primarily, because their numbers are so shallow compared to the two original groups of Autobots and Decepticons. But its NEVER to early for factional smack talk, which we definately need more of around here.

but what about now? Who knows when OS is going to be back? xmas is coming up and there are things that need to be on MY faction bulletin NOW, aswell as the problem of letting new clan members into the clan forums, THAT was part of the deal about sub factions coming here(the part about accomodating the needs of the players so they wouldn't have to go off site). telling people they're gonna have to wait until V2 just to get into a forum they should have access to anyway is asking a tad much i feel.

Dude trust me I understand the frustration. I've gone through it far longer than most. And I wish I had an answer on how to get this stuff done, but the only persons that can even give that sort of power are OS and Seibs, and both are busy with their own projects at work. I am fairly sure OS didn't expect to get waylaid with this large of a contract in the middle of his programming spree.

And before anyone thinks it, it's not criticism on OS or Ryan, it's a suggestion, a small little suggestion that will make a HUGE difference to the game.
And don't anyone try to tell me that the faction bulletins aren't that important to the game, because I can assure you that I and every Decepticon Forum member know otherwise. We've got so many plans together that we want to get out there for the rest of our fellow 'Cons to see. Plans that will increase the fun of this game for the Decepticons (because we've given up on trying to make it fun for the other factions, they've demonstrated their lack of interest). All we need is a couple of faction bulletins.

fair enough, but either way if you don't have time to look after your responsbilities perhaps it's better to make sure someone else take care of them(it's like making sure someone waters your plants when you're on holiday), what of cyber bishop, can't

I think Bishop's mentioned wanting to stay out of HMW, so I don't know if he'd want to appoint anyone with any powers.

makes a certain amount of sense actually, I can't exactly argue against it at all. Damn logical arguements and such. Still who knows perhaps he didn't think the time he'd be away would be as long as it has been.

I have the same situation with my Maximals but we have an advantage in numbers for communication. It is a little eaiser to PM 40 some odd Maximals than whatever RDD\Cons have. I got a little creative and did an announcement in Frontline trying to get some more of the Maximals interest. I know that idea won't be as promising as straight PMs but it was the most time effective. I probably will still end up using the PM system even though what I need to draw attention to isn't that time sensative. Who knows, there might be some things that the factions needs to do so OS can move forward like choosing their faction leaders. It would work out best if we can give as much support and do things on our end to the best of our abilities. I know, there is only so much we can do without any feedback.

I'm not casting doubt on OS, you can't schedule you're life round HMW, but the simple fact is that with the HMW admin away a very significant part of the game stops working, this is situation we're in now, and it's the problem we have to deal with, learn from the past, be mindful of the future, but not at the cost of the present.
the admin is currently unavailble, someone needs to weild those powers at least till OS gets back.
i had a feeling CB was that way inclined too, jeep, but hopefully Mkall isn't such a liabilty that he can't look after us for a few weeks.

OS has plans to make Frontline more accessible when V2 hits. Even the silent masses will see it. So it's not a bad idea actually.

Well look at you getting all important... next thing you know you and your news staff will have your own faction "imbedded reporter". Able to jump faction at will due to your 'immunity of the press'

I agree with Tammuz (& others) there is a sh*t-ton of stuff to be done and not only would it be nice for us players if it was getting done, but it would be a weight off of OS's shoulders once he's back.

I vote Mkall.
I agree.
OS could do with a hand to get things done. It can't be easy working HMW on your lonesome.
I vote Mkall too. He's shown us all that he knows what he's doing.
