The Sonic Canyons seem a spatial oddity to most outsiders, almost a four dimensional realm – a place where sound is as tangible as the rock and steel surroundings. Littered with the decaying remnants of factories and production lines, the urban wasteland is home to a mindless legion of automated machinery, a host of drones and bulky contraptions endlessly repeating their last orders, each adding a note and a pitch to the solid crescendo. For miles around, these robotic serfs pound, thunder and scream as though with hearts alive. However, the unbearable conditions they create have rendered the Canyons uninhabited, as even the most determined soul would find their spirit worn down and mind broken within scant weeks.
However, even in this aural hell, some things ring loud and clear, and the thunderous impact of what had for hours been a glowing white streak in the sky was heard for thousands of miles around. Communications officers, intelligence chiefs and rumour mills in each of the warring factions began to work overtime to discover the source of the impact-event, although it was to be the Autobots who arrived on the scene first, sending a small scout unit to investigate the approximate impact zone.
Within hours, their report was broadcast – though, for some reason, on an open channel. Some suspected that the communiqué was hijacked, pirated over the airwaves by some mysterious force. Others laid the blame on the inexperience and the frantic state of the unit themselves, whose fear was evident in their voices in the recording.
The major factions of the Great War each began to mobilise, none suspecting a fifth force to be marching to war with them…

Counting tournament missions are all missions ending in either '0' or '5' that includes 2 surviving factions.
This tournament will be a new kind, and will work like this.
Each faction starts with control of 50 ‘sectors’ of the Sonic Canyons. Each mission counts as a conflict between two factions for a single sector, the victorious faction adds the sector to their other controlled sectors, and the losing faction loses said sector (i.e. Faction A and B both have 50 sectors, they fight, faction A loses, and now has 49 sectors, faction B wins and therefore has 51).
Once a faction reaches 0 sectors, they no longer have a foothold in the area, and are out of the conflict (i.e. the tournament).
Winning faction is the last one standing.
Due to changes in shifts at work, the restart date will be 1pm (GMT), FRIDAY 3rd OCT.
The tourniment will finish exactly a week later.
I do not know yet if Jeep!'s minigame will be albe to continue running, as he is currently at uni, with rather limited net access, and I dont have the time to take it on myself (anybody interesting in helping please contact me).
