I like how Sever has the front leg and head incorporated inside the leg. A definite plus in my book.

These things could have been so much more popular if they had just scaled them with MP Grimlock and scrapped the moon boots idea. In early G1 episodes, MP Dinobots would actually scale with classics by cartoon standards. Thats why I bought MP Grimlock. So the added height was a deal breaker for me.

So I take it you are not a Giga Snarl fan.

My Fans Toys Quakewave is a strong product which is making me hold out on the Gigastorm Snarl.
FT better fast track some product shots and coloured pics to facilitate my decision making though.

I'm leaning towards Giga because i've seen what they have to offer and it looks great but i have no experience with their build quality.

I would like to see a more developed toe on Sever. It's a wee bit small.

The only real difference is FT's has the dino legs hidden and Giga does not. Everything else is superficial enough in bot mode to not really make a difference between the two. Dino mode may be another story altogether but the aesthetics are so similar that i don't really see there being much difference in dino proportions.
What really matters for me is colours/chrome and where and how much die cast and rachety joints are being used.
Honestly they both look great........so far. Even though one is just a drawing.

Would like the robot eyes to be a bit longer and wider.

I like how they articulated the toe, which was not present in the prototype.

Incorporation of the alt mode legs into the bot mode leg may have just made the choice for me.

I like the Giga version a lot, especially the head, but I think I like this more.
And I like my FT Quakewave a lot, so it is a known company to me.

Think the dino head looks a bit flat and weirdly shaped.

Can't wait to see how nice this looks in color with the gold vacumized metalics on the dino spikes.

Love to see a few comparisons pics of FT Slag next to FT Snarl in both modes.

Think Fans Toys is really shaping up to be one of the better 3rd party companies. Think Quakewave and the Dinobots are home runs. Can't wait to see what they release after there done with the dinobots. Hoping they stay away from doing combiners and focus more on singular bigger figure toys.

Find it odd that so many third party companies are making Snarl robot modes that are a bit taller than Slag robot modes. Were these Two characters shown this comparisons height in the 1980's cartoons, comics and toy line?

After watching several years worth of the History channel. I find it amusing HasTak created a Team of Dinobots that had some species that were separated by millions of years.

They just picked five dinosaurs every kid knows .

Sever however is the best looking robot mode so far from FT but once again another terrible face sculpt

Will Takara actually be able to top these? So far these have been pretty much perfect versions of the Dinobots- I'm not sure if there's any way Takara could improve over these designs (aside maybe from adding clear plastic over greebly chrome like on MP Grimlock). The only thing I don't like about these guys is that they're out of scale with MP Grimlock (although technically MP Grimlock is too small anyway next to the other MPs), and they're doing their own Grimlock anyway.

Also, that leg engineering is genius.
