There appears to be some extra paint/detailing. (Notice the red panels on the bot legs?) Also, the standard release might have grey where 06X might be metallic? They are very subtle from the pics I looked at in this thread....

I got Sever in today. It has a lot of problems. I'd probably have known about them if I ever bothered to read or watch reviews of things first, but I'm kind of committed to the set now owning Scoria, Soar, and now this, so I didn't.

Be very careful with the transformation step where you have to rotate the thigh 360 degrees near the hip. One leg on mine was fine, the other had flash on the interior of the joint so bad it never would have finished twisting. Had I forced it, rather than taken apart the leg and sanded/shaved down the parts a ton, something would have broken badly, in a way that'd compromise both modes.

His robot face is also stupid, like Tesla. I think after Sludge and Quakewave, I'm done with Fans Toys for good. Might even skip Quakewave and just wait for that other 3P MP-esque Shockwave or wait some years for Takara.

All these "X" versions they're doing are made to match up the FT product to the Takara MP-8X King Grimlock. The color is a classy bright silver as opposed to the darker neutral grey found on the regular releases. Said regular releases have a gray plastic made to match up with any of the various Takara or Hasbro releases of MP Grimlock.

It's a cool effort but no way I can triple-dip on this stuff. Would much rather have G2 colors, though I may not even bother with that if they can't up their QC game or get some better/alternate face sculpts in there with those.
