TF2 should be like the Empire Strikes Back...
Where the Decepticons sort of win. I always like how Empire Strikes Back never felt like a stand alone movie because in away the bad guy wins at the end.
I think TF2 should be about the recovery of Megatron and that maybe some allspark remnant can be taken from him. This could unfold as Soundwave wants to save Megatron and Starscream goes along so he can get a piece of the cube. And in the end they succeed in recovering Megatron. This would then set up a good third movie with an ovbvious reformatting of Megatron as Galvatron for a final battle with Prime and the autobots.

It'll be just like Empire Strikes back... the 2nd movie in a series of 3 !
I would like to see some kind of unresolved ending in the second part of the story, not quite like Pirates 2/3 but in that vein.

Yes, that would be good. It would add a real element of danger to the Decepticons (because turning into deadly vehicles and devastating cities just doesn't cut it, you know?).

It should be like TESB. Here is my plot I made in about a minute. There are plot holes but gives the sort of idea that would please Hasbro.
1st act
Expect a battle at the beginning with a strong, new, mysterous Decepticon enemy. 1 or 2 new Autobots have already arrived.
2nd act
Prime is injured from 1st act fight and out for middle part of film. The rest of the Autobots are now seperated, running and hiding, trying to work out who this new enemy is. The whole tone of the movie is now a lot darker.
3rd act
Prime returns in new form (for toy selling reasons), defeating enemy. New bots arrive after receiving signal sent at end of first film. Major revelation about larger, more powerful enemy heading this way.
Credits roll. The Transformers will return....

I agree that TF2 should indeed be ESB, because the sequal should be alot darker and more serious Also please no Galvatron or Unicron for these movies.

Empire Strikes Back never really felt like a "bad guys win" situation to me, because the good guys still get away. It's more like a To Be Continued where nobody really wins. Stalemate ending if you will.

ESB isn't quite like Pirates 2. Pirates 2 ended later than it should have...
Transformers 2 should end with Shockwave in command of the Decepticons, and he's about to kill Optimus Prime and the rest of the Autobots, when Soundwave says that the process was a success (implying but not bluntly saying that Megs has been revived).
Shockwave says "excellent, you and your autobots got lucky Prime. Well not, that's not completely true..." With that a Decepticon kills Bumblebee (or some autobot from the first movie but Bumblebee works best) executioner style.
While the Autobots reel in shock, the Decepticons leave. The Autbots then mourn (unlike with Jazz

Megatron is little more than a shilouette but he hass clearly been upgraded. "Vengence, my loyal servants. Vengence..." Open Credits.

Agreed, but it should be Shockwave blazing a clear path of death through out.

TESB-like sequel? Yes. Yessssss...I like it.
And you wouldn't even have to kill any of the characters off for a cliffhanger ending.
The Decepticons could kidnap the kids or something, etc. Make it a personal blow that just goes over the line but no so much that it'll turn people away. I think killing off a major character (like Megatron and Jazz) has proven to be a not so positive experience.

Yea, bring the dark elements of ESB, and we'll have a winner on our hands. I agree with who said there needs to be a real element of danger for both the humans and Autobots from the Decepticon threat. The Terrorcons or Predacons would fill that particular role rather nicely. Especially the Predacons b/c of their natural hunting instincts, as well as Predaking.

Empire Strikes Back is an amazing film, but to say that TF2 is "has to be the same" is fairly obvious statement as the original Star Wars trilogy is the basis of MOST trilogy series that actually matter and work as whole trilogies.
Back to the Future (with Doc being shot into the Wild West)
Matrix (although the 2nd/3rd shouldn't have happened)
Pirates (again, the 2nd/3rd weren't needed anyway)
Spiderman (Harry becoming the Hobgoblin)
Even the new Star Wars films did it (not that they deserved to be made as it turned out)
It's a basic storyline mechanic, and used correctly makes a good overall trilogy. ESB was just the first major time it was used.

The Matrix: I don't agree that this trilogy worked. The first one covered Neo's story and and told it from beginning to end. He was the chosen one, he found his path and he saved the world. Continuing on that theme for Reloaded and Revolutions just wasn't necessary. It was basically a "Ooh, lookie what we can do with special effects! What? A script? A legitimate reason to make these sequels? What is this common sense that you speak of?" kinda thing.
POTC: Yes! The Curse Of The Black Pearl was the most entertaining and necessary piece of the series. Dead Man's Chest did insanely well, I'll give 'em credit for knowing how to make a blockbuster, but it was boring. Some of it was fun, but mostly boring. At World's End I haven't even seen yet and from what I hear it's boring for a full thirty minutes at the beginning and then becomes non stop wall to wall battle scenes that also became boring.
Spider-Man: I liked one and three. Two is at the very, very bottom of that trilogy list. I look back on it and find myself kinda "ehh" about that entire film. Which is odd, because I loved it in the theaters (saw it four times...) but the more and more I watched it on DVD, the less and less I even gave a crap about it.
I just hope TFs don't head the same way. TFs *need* a sequel (to at least seal the deal storywise) but a TESB-designed second act would be nice.

I love Empire Strikes Back! It is a classic among die-hard sci-fi fans (a category that I, more often than not, fall into). That being said, I'm not sure if Transformers 2 should tread down that path. I would definitely be up for a darker movie with more emphasis shifted towards the Decepticons whom we hardly got to know in the first movie. But trying to recapture the magic that was "Empire Strikes Back" would probably be a little difficult to do.
I do hope a better story is implemented in the next film and if they bring back Megatron, they should definitely hook him up with an actual 'Earth' vehicle mode versus the Cybertron fighter-type thing he was in the first one. Less gimmicks, more action, more Decepticons, less blockbuster 'stereotypes', more drama and less all around 'cheese' would be my idea of what they should go for in TF2.

I personally would like to see Starscream lead, although I do think that megatron should probably be brought back for the third movie I don't think that should be a large plot element. Think about it "Transformers Two The Quest To Revive Megatron"

Woah! Don't get me wrong, read my post, I didn't say the Matrix trilogy worked! In fact I said 2nd/3rd weren't necessary. I forever regret seeing the first and thinking "they should make a sequel", because if anything, those films ruined public opinion of the original Matrix. Which is an incredibly clever film.
The sequels are just a mess.
As for POTC, the first film was my favourite film of the year, but the following films weren't really necessary and dragged in places. Why they have to make films last 3hours since LOTR I do not know. Especially as it's a Disney film.

i think that theres a little bit of the allspark left in his chest and some sharks try to eat him and they activate him and he becomes galvatron.
