Have you people noticed that they are a two year gap between the realese of each TF movie. And now that Mr. Bay says he wants a year off so expect another 2 year game on TF 3.
TF 1 - 2007
TF 2 - 2009
TF 3 - 2011 ????
Hey, I am cool with a 2 year gap wait between each of the films so I can concentrate on other stuff that is out there.
I just hope for the 3rd film they will give it a big grand finale maybe on Cybertron itself some or out in outerspace somewhere.
Look everyone knows that the 2nd movie in a trilogy is always the darkest part.
The Matrix-Reloaded
Star Wars - Attack of the Clones
Star Wars - The Empire Strikes Back
Batman - Returns
Robo Cop 2
See what I mean, the 1st movie is the introduction and to get us into the meat of the story, the 2nd movies are always more darker and at the good guys darkest hour seemingly always out numbered and hopeless leaving the movie with out a real ending just like a huge cliff hanger. The 3rd and final movies are the ultimate ending the good guys mounting there comeback while taking a beating and the main good guy returing from the dead.
In transformers 2 I suspect something may indeed happen to Optimus Prime cause the second movies are always darker. I just hope that he goes down with a fight and gets a good send of.
In the 3rd movie Optimus Prime will return but unkown how, also unkown how Optimus will be destroyed in the 2nd one if this is the case.
My guess either bye Megatron, Starscream or The Fallen while trying to protect the humans or during a huge final epic battle during the movie's final moments.
Look they are tons of good movies coming out in 2010 while we wait a year in between for TF 3 so it is all not bad news for us.
Plus Transformers - Animated may get additional seasons beyond season 3 also.
I just hope that during Mr. Bays time off he will take some time and make a Bad Boys 3 closing out the trilogy.

Re: 2 year gap between the movies ????
Your point on second movies in trilogies being darker is a good one. And if it's true to form, it should make the third one very satisfying (for example, I think Return of the Jedi was the best Star Wars movie). And the two-year gap is somewhat annoying, but then, I'm not a very patient person.
In this land we have defended,
From all things dark and cruel,
Now we are defenseless
In a land where dragons rule!
Me, Grimlock, BADASS!!!!

Re: 2 year gap between the movies ????
There's usually always a 2 year gap between sequels, I can't think of any movie that hasn't had at least a 2 year or sometimes even a 3 year gap.
Also, I loved the 2nd Matrix movie, better than the 3rd, I think the 2nd was the best one...then again, I'm a sucker for lots of badass action, hehe.

I am just hoping in this 2nd part of the trilogy that they give Optimus Prime a good final battle.
You now that this is going to be their darkest hour all 2nd movies are the darkest of the trilogy and something always happens to the main hero in the 2nd ones.
Then in the 3rd movie the hero returns and saves the day.
I am hoping that Optimus has a good final battle with either Starscream, Megatron if he is indeed in the movie, or The Fallen.
My theory is that he will meet his end at the hand of the Fallen, he spends alot of his energy defending the humans against the new decipticons.
The final battle with the Fallen proves to much for Optimus but he did manage to save everyone but at the cost of his own spark.
Also everyone says Optimus & Jetfire will combine in the movie if this is indeed true it will be like how Jetfire & Jetstorm will combine in Animated I dont think it will be like in Armada were they make Jet-Convoy.
I am hoping that they will be no Unicron but instead an upgraded Megatron into Galvatron.
Unicron would not look right on the Big Screen plus I would hate to see his robotic mode.
Also I am afraid he will turn into something like Galaticus in FF 2 was as the Nano Cloud of Death That is the other reason I dont wanna see Unicron in these movies cause I am afraid that they will not make him look anywhere near his cartoon counterparts.
But since the Fallen is in this movie then I guess it is enivitable that Unicron will show up in the 3rd movie.
But anything can happen in 2 years from now so I guess we wont no until 2011 anyways.
