I was on Shoot For the Edit (Michael Bays Forum) and a member known as "nelson" has talked to Bay and Bay mentioned he WILL be shooting in Washington DC, despite the recent news that TFormers.com had recently reported noting that Bay is not aloud to shoot in DC.
And if nobody knew it they are filming a car race here!

Nelson over at Shoot For The Edit has talked to director Michael Bay about the filming in Washington DC. After questions arose as to whether or not filming would take place at the National Mall in Washington DC, Nelson (administrator of Bay's message board) confirms that filming there would indeed take place. Car chase? So car-bots on both sides then? Hopefully more screentime than the Shanghai Sideways chase.

when wheelie put all of those green dots of old transformers on the map in transformers 2 one of the dots was pointing to washington D.C
