WotC Transformers 3D Battle-Card Game Site Updated With New Character Cards
The official site for the Wizards of the Coast Transformers 3D Card Game has been updated to feature images of more character cards, including Brawl, Barricade, Bonecrusher and Jazz along with some protoforms and non-movie characters.
You can see them all under the 'set list' section on the official Wizards of the Coast site here

Hmm...It's interesting. If these cards are any indication of what might be in store for future repaints. It looks like Jetfire will be a repaint of Stascream, Evac is a repaint of Blackout, Payload repaint of Ratchet, and Swerve will be a repaint of Bumblebee(why not just call him Cliffjumper IDK). But then they're probable just being cheap and reusing the same crappy "molds".

Good idea, but bad execution. Granted, making cardboard vehicles that turn into robots doesn't sound easy...

I'm not interested in this at all. Not only does it look like a pain to "transform" them, but they'll probably fall apart after a while. I also think they look pretty poor in either mode, though Scorponok doesn't look too bad (in alt. mode).
I still think WOtC would've been way better off doing a simple TCG, along the lines of Pokemon, Magic, and Yu-Gi-Oh! That had the potential to really take off. I don't really see this going anywhere anytime fast.

I think I'll pass on this. I agree with Roboto that transforming them will probably be a pain in the neck, and totally disrupt the flow of the game.

Mannnn I wish Mirage was in the movie!
I dunno, at least the game is DIFFERENT. So many CCG's WOTC decided to change things up a bit. Remember it's for kids, I'm sure they will dig it.

These rules are weak. How this got past the playtesters I'll never know...
Both players choose an attack color and hide it, reveal the chosen color simultaneously, if they Match you hit...
So both players either miss every round or hit every round? Wouldn't that break the game down to whoever has the most hit points? Where is the strategy? What is stopping everyone from using Megatron and drawing in every match?
Just terrible, i feel dirty. WotC can suck my Dice. Break out the Decipher Starwars rule set and start over...

I just read the rules too, I retract my previous statement. Damn though SW Decipher rules were intense! I played for 2 years and still don't know if I was playing right.

I wonder if a D10-based TF tabletop RPG would be too much to hope for.
Just Use The Mekton And Roadstriker Rules From R. Talsorian Games. They're Easy To Adapt To Exactly What You Are Looking For. I Just Did It Myself Recently (I Used The Toy Class Sizes To Help Determine Certain Adaptions)
Please Excuse The Way I Type, I Have Been Doing This For So Long, It Would Be Near Impossible To Retrain...

It's a rock-paper-scissors setup. Red beats green, green beats blue, blue beats red. If you choose the same color, it's a tie. If two ties happen consecutively, instead the character with the least hit points scores a critical hit.
I had figured these rules out and posted them in a previous thread, which also received little attention. Basically, a one-on-one match is very straight-forward, and will only last a minute or two. Having multiple figures adds some depth to the game, since certain abilities (like Prime's) are designed for group battles.
If anybody played this game seriously, it'd be more about studying your opponent than about looking at the cards and numerically quantifying the best possible outcome. Some characters have really risky abilities on certain colors, while other colors allow the character to change position or change form. Plus, the rules say that transforming the figure is optional, since as far as playing is concerned, you only need to flip over your card. So changing form actually wouldn't hurt the flow of the game at all.
Still, the horrid cardboard figures made this game dead-on-arrival. They look like trash. They are trash. What more can be said? If anything, I'll make my own versions of the cards and play using my deluxe and voyager figures rather than waste my money on this product.

game mechanics
what part of "if the colors match" is confusing.
when red is the attack color then if your opponent chooses green they dont match. and if thats the way it was designed then it would be a game of critical hits.
Its a game about battle, your in battle, your gonna take damage and your trying to control that damage. its your job to figure out what your enemy is going to do. and slam him when and if you can. maybe that means forcing a critical hit and in order to do that you have to take damage first.
Basically a common character, Mirage, can take down a rare, Megatron, if you see the strategy.
I have emailed Wizards for clarification.

I bought some of these. I was hoping for the enjoyment I got from having a massive fleet of the Pirates cards (which I can actually get my friends to play), but the Transformer ones are frustrating for two reasons:
1. They're too difficult to assemble.
2. They're not worth the effort to rearrange the pieces to transform them.
Oh yeah, they look like ass too.
But if they make some Gen-1 based, well...I'll turn into a hypocrite and buy more.
