What if Grimlock starts off as a regular vehicle.
Things get heavy when the Cons and the evil human scientists create and unleash a giant Cybertronian Dinosaur and has it attack China.
The only way the Bots have a chance of beating that thing is if one of them scans the prototype T-Rex from the lab where the creature was created. Grimlock volunteers and becomes a Dinobot.

If he's the truck then I'm guessing his robot mode will be a T-Rex. Which is totally cool with me.

Well in that case how about a truckasaurus from a monster truck rally then he could change from dino to dinotank to tank to bot. :shock:

If Grimlock turns from the truck into a dinosaur then I can't imagine the dino-mode being very big. That would be an issue. Grimlock needs to be a towering giant like in FOC.

I'm thinking the old truck is Optimus going undercover before he gets his badass new armor. Because the synopsis of the movie said that the all Cybertronians kind of disappeared after Chicago. Maybe Optimus is incognito and the Autobots broke all the energon detectors or whatever, or the government is in on their presence, but tells the public they're gone to keep the peace.
