Optimus1138 wrote:I don't think stores put toys out late to stop scalpers and make sure "normal" people get the toys. They don't care to whom they sell the figures as long as they make money. My stores are usually incredibly slow with getting new things, although I'm guessing that they'll have the DOTM figures today (I probably won't get to any of them until Friday).

INSTEAD of putting street release 05/16/2011 dates on the DOTM brown assortment boxes. they should have put the words "WHENEVER" instead on the boxes instead.
Because that's what 90% of the retailers are telling me on the phone today. "we'll put out the DOTM toys WHENEVER we have the spare either later today or sometime this week.

True. Just be patient and the pegs will be flooded with them.
The only figure I think I'll have trouble finding is Shockwave. He seems to be the popular one right now.

That's because he's Wave 2 (with Skyhammer) and there appears to be 2:1:1 ratio of Crappy Voyager Prime:Skyhammer:Shockwave in the Wave 2 cases, and it looks like only TRU got a lot of Wave 2 boxes.

From my persepective I'm guessing/thinking leader sized sentinel Prime might be the extremly hard to find one. as the toy looks like a slight homage to rid optimus prime.
DavidT wrote:The one wally world that did stock DOTM has the deluxes for $9.88... Is that what the new deluxe price is or is there a sale going on? There were no pricetags on the pegs or shelves... I discovered it at the self-checkout when I purchased Topspin...

I don't think any domestically released movie toy has ever been hard to find at retail.
Can anyone think of any notable exceptions? Red Ramapage and Evac maybe? They were kind of a non-release though.

The Red royal guard from the Star Wars Attack of the Clones line..
(the cases had 16 figures) Only certain cases got this fig (same case assortment # it just seemed like a "random" insert of a fig to tease or something) and when they were discovered, they sold very quickly. Some stored did not get any on the opening night, some got 2 or 3.
It took 4 months before they actually shipped them in multiples.
