Animated toys scale

At first I thought this line was going to be scaled awfully like all other hasbro lines, but if the following toys exist, it's not too bad. It's a list of the characters and the toy size you should get.

Autobots

Optimus Prime-Voyager

Ratchet-deluxe

Bumblebee-deluxe

Prowl-deluxe

Bulkhead-leader

Grimlock-voyager

Swoop-deluxe

Slag-deluxe

Decepticons

Megatron-Leader

Starscream-Voyager

Blitzwing-voyager

Lugnut-voyager

Blackarachnia-deluxe

Lockdown-deluxe

it comes to this:

deluxe: Lockdown, Blackarachnia, Slag, Swoop, Bumblebee, Prowl, Ratchet

voyager: Optimus Prime, Lugnut, Blitzwing, Grimlock, Starscream

Leader- Megatron and Bulkhead

total sum: $250

You could vouch for a leader Lugnut, I suppose, but then you might have to have Leader Starcream, a voyager Blackarachnia, and oh... #-o :HALUC: :BANG_HEAD:

you can see how hard it is for Hasbro. Don't be angry if they don't even bother with scale. This is just my wish list at the present.

I don't think that we are going to see any leader class figures in Animated, only deluxe and voyager, IMHO.

I can't see Hasbro spending the time an effort on a leader class bulkhead. They barely made the voyager class very big, why go leader?

This line is going to lean heavily on the deluxe class, it's just the price range most popular for the demographic, again, IMHO.

heh heh. The reason I posted this is because I BELIEVE that Hasbro business slip in the UK confirming the Hasbro releases for 2008 that mentions Transformers leader class toys and a 59.99 Optimus.

Those are all the figures we’ll be seeing for 08, I’m thinking the three leader class figures there’s an listing for are allspark power.

There may also be Supreme class figures in TF:Animated (!)

A google search turned up the following listing on Hasbro's German website:

http://www.hasbro.de/mcp.php/de/press/product/details/4/2127/index.html

Also of interest is a listing for a legends class Universe assortment.

Good points, but I couldn’t see why they would make another Bulkhead? He’s not a popular, marketable vehicle nor is he a very marketable character. If they were to make leader class animated figures, don’t you think they would pick a better character? On the other hand it is Hasbro so I wouldn’t doubt it.

The German Hasbro site also has a listing for leader Bulkhead and Megatron. I'll agree with you that Bulkhead is not a character that I think many people would want additional versions of, but that hasn't stopped Hasbro in the past. Besides, we may have already seen the leader Bulkhead figure.

Still just looks like the voyager if you ask me, but I’m fairly open to Bulkhead so I guess I wouldn’t mind if they did make a leader class version.

I don't mind if there aren't many leaders, since I can never afford them anyway. Though I'm actually a Bulkhead fan myself; if I had the money I'd be more inclined to get a leader version, just so the scale was more accurate with the other figures.

What I'm more annoyed about is the distinct lack of Scout class figures in any of this year's lines, as far as I can tell. Where's the scout love?

I'm with you there. To me Scout class is the perfect size. Bumblebee and Prowl should be scout class.

I agree about that, especially Bumblebee, though I wouldn't mind Prowl staying deluxe, because his toy design is perfect, but I suppose you could recreate the whole thing smaller.

There's actually a few substantial differences if you compare with a picture of the 'voyager' Bulkhead.

It's a fine toy, but as I see it, Prowl is possibly the most out of scale figure so far.

Image

I guess the problem with the scout class is that they need a few to make up an assortment. Any main character they seem want at least a deluxe or a voyager. I'm not keen on the idea of replicating each character across the different class sizes, and so far there aren't many minor characters. Arcee and Swoop might also work well in scout class.

So with a scout Prowl, the Bumblebee would have to have a large alt mode with a small robot...

Oh man a scout class Swoop would be brilliant! In fact they could have a scout swoop and slag and then a deluxe Grimlock! Not very likely I know, but a man can dream...

with a bit of luck Hasbro'll cook up plenty of toy only figures that'll fill the scout gap, as well as a few extra deluxes here and there. Come on Waspinator guest appearance with toy!

leader megs, ultra magnus and bulkhead are very likely, theres some evidence for all 3.

i dont understand the comment on bulkhead 'why go leader?' well because its more to scale and he'll be available to those who can afford it, the voyager bulkhead is a more affordable toy of a main character. the current rumour is that leader bulkhead comes with headmaster/can 'wear' him so will be unique to the voyager version.

Any speculation on what they'll do in the Supreme class?

i cant point you to any specific written info but i seem to remember somebody (not sure who it was or when) that UM would be a leader class figure, it could have been botcon??? anyway you dont have to take my word for it, it was at the fuzzy rumor stage if i remember correctly. That german site is the firt time ive heard any mention of a supreme class figure!!OMG, not a big bendy rubber evil archer!! UM is known to be a military type vehicle in alt mode.

if i say 'why dont they make a leader size simplified bumblebee because he is the most popular character for the under 5's' anybody could reasonably ask me 'how do you know that?' for all you know bulkhead might be the most popular character (for teh target group).

I think you misunderstood me, what I’m saying is he doesn’t seem like the character that would fly off the shelf. I don’t know though, but he’s just not that sort of character. Also since this will be targeted to the under 5’s and around there, they probably wouldn’t make leader class figures, but instead something a little more affordable.

About facts though, you may be the one who doesn’t have the facts that I don’t work for Hasbro. How about this, when June comes and the animated crap is out and warming the shelves we’ll see how many bulkheads there are.
