Store exclusive energon weapon, probably something mudane to most collectors, I know. Still, I'm sitting here thinking, "Wow...I remember a time when something out there like this would be out of the question."

I don't feel guilty or anything, more amused I think.

When do you notice yourself seeing "the line" so to speak, then crossing it mockingly in pursuit of your hobby?

Nice. If I had known about the limited energon spears they were selling
a while back I probably would have pick up a couple. You can never have too many weapons.

Weapon: Air Rifle
I think I've yet to really see that line. I've been pretty careful thus far not to pay too far above the RRP of a figure. So far the most I've payed is £30 for Alt Meister/ Prowl (each). Other than that, I've payed pretty much RRP.

And since my most expensive tf purchase is Anni Prime, I think the line's a far way off yet :P

(But I can see myself buying an expensive Brave Maximus somewhere down the line)

You bet!

I don't know whom this one is going to yet...

I went out of my way to get an orange energon axe for Classics Prime. I have a purple energon spear for Classics Megatron...

Accessorizing is fun!

I bought that exact weapon for my Botcon Classics Springer last year at the big Botcon! I love that shadowy black!

When have I crossed the line??? Never....if I tell myself that I won't go crazy feeling guilty, even though I shouldn't feel guilty having $500 or more toys in my house... [-(

Weapon: Switch Blade Tail
Oh I crossed the line (specifically, the line from normal collecting to EXTREME PWNAGE N00B!) a long time ago. Fortunately, life grabbed a hold of my common sense and snapped me back in place. I have since crossed back over the line and don't go out of my way to do crazed things for my collection.

I have nothing against store exclusives, things of that nature. It's the depths we'll go to just to get it, that bother me.

I remember spending $160.00 on single figures just to complete my G1 cast collection back in '00.

Now...I cringe at the thought of the amount I spend on a bunch of figures...though sometimes (like the June 2nd Movie line debut) you get figures that are so good, it's worth it to buy 'em all in one swipe.

Oh sure, there were some fun times on that side of the line, but I like where I'm at now with collecting.

It’s a black version of the sword included with Energon Doomlock, most, if not all of the Energon weapons included with the scouts were repainted and sold exclusively to a wide array of different Japanese stores with the Energon figures.

Yup its a black Energon Sword. The Mold was originally in translucent neon green and is part of Energon Cruellock.

Here:
Image

Most figures from A/E/C some from Classics and a few from the movie can actually hold it. I believe Ironhide is one of the few movie figs that could hold it. And in Black it sure to look very nice.

Congrats CP. good buy. I actually paid 25 to get Cruellock for his sword alone. Don't care much for him. Just his sword. Which is now in the hands of Cybertron Soundwave. Very cool Weapon.

This black one looks even cooler. I might just be tempted to get it myself. although 40 bucks is a little steep its a black exclusive. Decisions decisions :-? .

Energon weaponry is cool. Specially Melee Weapons. Axes, Swords etc..

I have never seen the Cruellock sword with the small gun extension as a handle, it looks a bit odd. There are much better pictures to share! :D

I like the gun as a handle and it helps for some of the bigger figures to hold it since the space between the peg and the lower part of the blade is sometimes too narrow to accommodate the fists of the bigger figures.
How about this pic then:
Image
Its Doomllock instead of Cruellock.
And Magma Type:

Its a very cool looking sword.

I prefer those pictures, yeah, I like the hilt guard look, but I could see why you would want to use the other way, I just never did. If you do use it the other way, doesn't the other peg need to be rotated 180 degrees about the connector to the blade, so it is not in the way of wrists/forearms??

It is indeed cool though. 8)

Weapon: Sword
Behold ... Galvatron! (and his orange sword with the little attachment from Cruellock/Doomlock's sword or gun. Whatever the part was, I bought the figure just so I could make Galvatron hold his sword without the tank attachment)
Galvatron 2 small.jpg

On another note, I once sweated paying $50 for 20th Anniv Prime. Then, maybe a year or two later, I paid around $200 for reissue Predaking. Now I have lots of $100+ figures.

Still, those are complete figures. Spending over $50 for a minicon is one thing (and yes, I know some go into the $100s), but $40+ for an Energon accessory. You, Counterpunch, are on a different field than me. Your line is way over there. Here's me waving at ya =; ;)^

Any price for the weaponry to win!

The only issue I have with some of those releases is that we saw perfectly acceptable alternatives here in the US and those don't come with the star chips.

How about giving him to Pimpimus Prime once you receive the BotCon set?

I di cross the certain line last Sunday, I went for a little while insane and bid $120 on the BotCon evil Prime on ebay, as I wanted to click the confirm bid button, the internet connection broke down, letting me loose the auction... :|
Damn I wanted him.
