ABANDON THREAD!!
How about faction-specific armours?
A different list for each faction, since each faction did use different techs.
The autoboobs can have their Apex armour and powersuits.

Some good ideas came out here, faction specific armors and the like, but if it went that way i would say maybe have 1 armor for a few LVLs be faction specific and have a list of standard armors all can chose from, would be the way to go IMHO.
but then you would have the issue of how we get the armor, missions and the like-like it used to be like-,and due to balance issues they would be clones with different names, but would add to the Role play side of things a tad for each faction.

Re: ARMOUR: the unsolved variable
not necassarily, you could have several armours that offer the same protection, but have different costs and install times, Unicron armour may take moments to install but require stupidly large amounts of energon, Apex may require days in the armour lab but have only have minimal energon costs. pretender armour (which i'm not to hot on, if we're gonna have gimmicks in HMW lets make them more than lipservice) maybe be a compromise between the pair

true, true but i was thinking of DEFENCE, instead of cost and install times,at least on the def. end they should be the same to there faction counterparts, time and cost could be set on a faction scale, with the other faction armors with the costs going up with rank, with maybe the top armor having ungodly cost for each faction. while still keeping the standard armors on there own scale,as a middle ground between the faction armor time, cost, or something along those lines.
