Comparing the pic of the new one to the pics of Dinobot on TFU... the new one is a bit better. Still think you'll need to be a fan of the character to go nuts over it though.

Agree, it is not the 'ultimate' version by any means, but it has some toon accurate robot mode features (and dino I suppose), too.

Head and face sculpt are more accurate minus the color, the chest and ribs are fairly accurate to the toon.

It stops there I think. Alt mode looks pretty toon like minus the arms still on the dinos chest.

I don't know whether to act excited or be disappointed. Dinobot is my favorite transformer, so if the new mold is even slightly better than the original, then I'm 99% likely to pick it up. Does he still have the rotate blade and drill bit sword? I've heard that his deco isn't that great. If so, what's wrong with it? Is the deco better than 10th Anniversary Dinobot?

Nope, there is a brand new mold of the character BEAST WARS Dinobot. That guy was a repaint in the first Universe go around.

I think I saw it in his alt mode, but they didn’t show his weapons in robot mode.

The problems with his colors are very minor and probably will be fixed on the final version. For example, his face is purple, where as it should be blue. I know that’ll probably get fixed cause another club magazine showed Tankor with grey parts that on the final toy were blue.

Saberback is a Stegosaurus, Dinobot is a Raptor, his robot mode looks nothing like Saberback's and please explain how they can repaint a Stegosaurus into a Raptor.

Believe what you will, I've seen pictures, I own Saberback, and a few of his repaints, this isn't even a repaint of any raptor looking mold we've had.

Duhh... Magic.

But seriously. I think the one lesson we've all learned fast and easy is that the final product looks nothing like the prmotional pictures. Promo pics are always prettied up to make people want them more. Case in point - Cyclonus.

Trust me, Dinobot will have a show accurate face, but the paint and plastic colors will be way off.

And yes mac, Dinobot is a new mould. sheesh.
