Evidently not only is the new variant Grimlock in a new Box, and comes with a new crown, His colors are very different, and more of the Marvel comic style/animation style like on the box!!! awesome!!

The soundwave pic is a repaint but I think that the Jolt is the regular one.. I think when the page was scanned it made that bright blue he normally has look kinda purple..Least I think so

Ya, after looking at it for longer, I agree. Mini Prime that comes with Stratosphere is also purple lol.

So.... Does this mean that the Takara version of Stratosphere lacks the shuttle-gun like the Hasbro version? Great. I've been waiting so long for nothing.

On the other note, I didn't know Takara would do a premium version of Grimlock now - the paintjob all over him and his sword is very, very nice and I'd definitely use that crown more often that, say, that cheesy waiter set (which is, to say, never). Oh well, I prefer the black hands, legs and gun over the blue versions.

THe first Grimlock is in show-accurate colors, while the second one is in Marvel comic-accurate colors.

I love that MP-Grimlock recolor! And the box is simply smashing! I must have one.

I really love this grimlock the colors, for the most part, all look different from the original, I wonder if the crown will match the chest, also, does anyone know if the third party set (crown, mug, thrust [non transforming]) crown will mat h the chest of the original? I've only gotten the mp starscream coronation set before so I don't have any visual idea of how well they do metalics. Any ideas guys?

Can anyone read the text for a release date for this grimlock?
