From what I can tell, there appear to be NO differences whatsoever.

But even if there were, that still doesn't explain the high price. I mean, the Black Arcee from the first movie wasn't that expensive, was it?

Maybe it's a store exclusive in Japan? Or maybe the batch that BBTS are selling are a weird variant, like the darker versions of Sideways and Breakaway that we've been seeing? Who knows?

It comes with a small shard of the Allspark and a small note that says "I am Transform and so can you!".

Seriously, though, it is a wonky price, though if it is a store exclusive or something, it's cheaper than things like the Gentei Seekers and the Strafe repaint of Cyclonus.

So between that and the costs to get/import several of them, the prices are going to be substantually higher. Best explaination I can think of is that Takara wanted some store exclusives without having to borrow from older toylines like Hasbro has done, so reassigned some of the decos for it. I feel sorry for the japanese kids that will have to put up with Sideways when his repaint is so much better looking.

Honestly, you're probably best just getting the US versions, unless it turns out there's some -major- changes.

Actually, you don't have to feel sorry for the Japanese kids/collectors, because going from the scan from the magazine, the exclusive Dead End is the same price as other non-exclusive Deluxe at around 2000 yen.

Thing is, although Swerve is a store exclusive in japan (I think it's amazon-only), Dead End is not, at least according to the japanese text beside that photo. If you look at the picture of Swerve, you can quite clearly see that the text mentions amazon.jp

The only thing it could possibly be is some kind of super-exclusive, like the Lawson and Tsutaya metallic Camaros, or the Lawson Blackout.

Even this year so far, we've seen the Chiara Black Soundwave, the Hyper-Hobby Prime and the Lawson exclusive repaints of Legends Mudflap and Fallen.

But these have all been showcased and photographed (both on the TakaraTomy website and in Japanese magazine scans) way before their release - to my knowledge this is the first metion anywhere of some kind of Dead End variant.

So until I see another source I'm calling shenanigans on this one, and I'm going to assume that BBTS have come into some dodgy info.
