The Universe of the Transformers is vast, and populated by many characters. Their universe is a large tapestry, made up of the stories and points of view of countless experiences that serve the larger whole.

These are some of those stories. This is:

One and 3/4th thumbs up!

The monologue can be a little tighter because there's a large temporal gap in between when Prime wakes up and the Battle of Autobot City. An additional single well written line can supplement this. Other than that, damn good.

One of the top Mosaics in recent memory, and especially impressive considering it accomplished something new via internal monologue with the venerable Optimus Prime. Using a ghost of a memory from Primal delivers us a plausible and potent avenue for premonition. Well done.

Hey there, thanks for the feedback. Just to explain, the idea is that Prime has had these visions since waking up on Earth for the first time but that it is only now that he's able to start seeing the shape of what's coming rather than just a feeling, which is why he says "Then it hits me" at the point he does. It probably could have been clearer but hopefully it makes sense!

This is a cool one.

However... I have to question whether it makes sense. Prime having some sort of vague memory of his spark's time inside of Primal, that I like and have no problem with. But why would that allow him any memory of his own death? Didn't the Beast Wars very strongly imply, if not outright state, that details of history pertaining to Earth was (intentionally) lost? So Primal would not have known about the attack on Autobot city, or about when Prime dies. Ergo, Prime could not have picked that information up from Primal, right?

Megatron, on the other hand, might have picked up memory of the message that he eventually leaves on the Golden Disk, inspiring him to leave it. That would be a cool paradox.

Well Primal would know that Prime died, as BW characters come from a time at least 300 years after G1 and would certainly know the circumstances of it. It's more the idea that a fragment of Primal's knowledge stayed behind, in the same way that the accumulated wisdom and knowledge of previous leaders is supposed to stay within th Matrix. That may not have been enough for Prime to have crystal clear knowledge of the future but certainly would have enough to have premonitions and a sense of deja vu about the circumstances.

WarGraver wrote:Didn't the Beast Wars very strongly imply, if not outright state, that details of history pertaining to Earth was (intentionally) lost? I don't think that was the case but I'm happy to be corrected. The presence of the Matrix (and references to Unicron) implies the events of the Movie would be canon in BW continuity. Black Arachnia also mentions that Starscream was killed by Galvatron, so again the events of the Movie at least were known. BW Megatron does try to kill G1 Prime so that the Autobots never win the war that leads to the BW status quo. If the events on Earth had not mattered or the information lost then Prime would not have been important to the outcome of the war on Cybertron and not worth Megatron's efforts.

Hope that clarifies things a bit!

The location of Earth was intentionally lost so no one would go back and mess up history (and look how that turned out). Any information reguarding Starscream was likewise lost, probably after the Protoform X project failed.

So far as I remember, the history behind the Great War was not, so it's possible that Prime could pick up ghost memories from his time inside Primal.

Great Mosaic. I always loved the scene in Beast Wars where Primal returns the Matrix to Prime who wakes for just a moment before returning to his eons long slumber. The music makes it a haunting scene. Nice to see a mosaic that links to it.

Also kind of reminds me of Time Wars where Galvatron is remembering the battle as Megatron but is confused as events transpire differently to what he remembers.

Again great mosaic. I love the fact that it's part one so there's more to come.

Wow wow wow. Great work. Its hard to write ruminating internal monologues for iconic characters like Prime without coming off corny and self-important, but the author has done a really good job here. A little subtlety went a long way with this piece. the way the text boxes have been placed also jives really well with the image composition, the eye flows naturally from box to box and across the picture plane. nice work.

A little constructive criticism; the panels are your friends! vary the sizes and layouts to emphasize the passage of time, whether its a short sliver of panel to represent a flash of memory, or a long panel to really emphasize Primes solitude and the desperate battle against time as he makes his way across the desert towards autobot city. this is one magical property that comics have that no other printed medium can replicate! i think that small tweak would take your work from great to phenomenal!

i look forward to seeing more from this author.
