Beside the voice,It also depend on what the artist captured the character in film along with that CGI physical, that is the begining point of them to thinking about the voice.

After listen it almost 20 more time, My opinion is Hugo’s voice base is deep with strong and blooming. In the technical way that would be more raise for the digital sound. Not all Hugo’s line was with the heavy digital sound but some Hugo’s line even less distortion ,his voice base is also sound different from his usual. Such as the line of ”Where is the cube?”….leave a bit with his alien breath then “ Youuu failll mee yet againnn… Starscreammm… GET THEM” , “Noooo..It’s just meee Prrrimmmmeeee!”(with a bit high noise at the end of line). The emotional along Hugo’s line is provided the EGO evil, he think they (the decepticons in command) got a bone, but he(Megatron) got a brain. He (Megatron) think the Autobots is weak while the Decepticons is more strong. 8) Even Hugo is new to Megatron but he had a brilliant captured this character as well.

Frank is a voice actor, I trust on his ability that he could also made it awesome. Frank is also brilliant ,he quite fimilar to the Megatron's character but the look in this film was change to an Alien-Beast. Just give him a bit warm up of his changing to get raise with the digital sound.;;)

"Oh! Kaye for my Megs is nice Batting Eyes I loved the BM Megs and his voice."

He's not "Your" bloody Megatron. He's HASBRO's Megatron. What is it with chicks and schoolgirl crushes on Cartoon characters?

As far as the original point, Welker wouldn't have fitted.

Oh! Damolisher ,You seem always like my post hah.. Thank for re-quote my favorite line. ;;) I don't care for what he belong to which franchise. I can accept the change as long as I still love it, Not matter Megs look like, He is my love of the CGI bad-ass character. ;;) Even G1 or BM, I didn't considered him just only a BLOODY Megatron, he had something more to go with. ;;)

Actually I could.

And yes, they should have used Franks voice. Its not like they were not going to process it anyway.

It's because Frank's voice aged too much over the years. The man's in his 50s or 60s, so the voice probably was too raspy, or too soft, or something.

Well to be honest Cullens voice did sound much older and throatier. But it fit the character and the design. Welker however with his Megatron voice just sounds bad when paired with what Megatron looks like in the movie and game. No matter if it sounded old or not.

IT SUCKED and sounded so wrong for the character.

I would unfortunately have to agree. It sounded like Grampa Megatron. The joys of getting older.

I also agree, although i wouldnt say it outright sucked, but it definately didnt suit the new look megatron, nor would it suit a live action movie.

I thought Meg's voice was great, fitted the screen character perfectly.

I never realised it was Weaving though - came to the film very much as a newcomer deliberately, tried to avoid forming any preconceptions before I saw it. Watched the Metrodome UE remaster the other day and I noticed a difference - but it wasn't a heinous difference. Weaving always does a great job and the characterisation fit the screen persona brilliantly I thought.

I'm slightly embarassed I didn't realise it was Weaving doing Meg's voice, I'm somewhat of a Weaving fan... Obviously not fan enough!

Why can't people accept that the film is fantastic in it's own right, whether or not they used the original voices, Peter Cullen made the film, big time and Hugo Weaving was 100% right for Megs! I just sat and watched it with about 500 people and there was a standing ovation at the end! Says it all!

I think it was awesome. I loved the voice in the movie (it was perfect!), and in the game it just sounded so... off. Someone like Megatron, the most powerful and dangerous Decepticon in the history of EVER, should NOT sound like somebody just kicked Darth Vader in the nuts!!!

Why is everyone talking like Yoda or Grimlock on here?
Anyways...Welker is the voice of Megatron. Pshh, to me, he is freakin' Megatron. He was even Galvatron on the show- Lenny Nemoy be danged! Yes, he sounds very aged in the game, but he's still got it down pat. The guy makes Megatron sound like an evil corpse risen from the grave, how freaking cool is that? More than that, to me at least, he makes Megatron sound like, ahyuck, der, Megatron! And his voice wasn't deep enough? Half of these posts seem to say that people either didn't know it was Hugo Weaving, or couldn't tell at all. There was a lot of touch up on that voice, very modified with a lot added to it. And with that little screen time and dialogue, how could it have been such a big issue to keep Welker out? What's the point? Why not just get Denzel to voice Optimus while you're chasing marquis appeal Mr. Bay sir. I'm not mad and ranting about it...well ok I'm kind of ranting about it, and the movie was pretty good, very much it's own super cool thing, I just don't understand the selection. I guess it comes down to director's discretion, and hey, that's fine, we can all pop on our G1 DVD's whenever we want and that's awesome. I'm just saying it doesn't make any sense to me. I think Welker's the man, to heck with that, he's Megatron and that's even better.

I think Hugo did a lot sound different from his usual when he got the characters. I heard him as V, Hugo is also surprised me a lot as I never imagine his voice to be like that a sexy breath of Anti-Hero guy and the line "My Turn" was really kick-ass and in the same movie if you seen it, remember that he also take the role of Rookwood (the old guy), Hugo was also sound different.

After I replayed his Megs line, I think Hugo had a some sexy breath at his line "Ohhh! sooo unwisee!" seem like Kaye.
I think Hugo's voice could turn the beast look of Megs to be
a handsome guy for a second. ;;)

If they added a mechanical digital sort of sound to his voice, he would sound awesome. Right there his voice was unedited and it sounded very scary at one point BUT it SOOOOOOO doesnt suit the new look Megs. That said, if they did what i said then maybe it would work if they digitise and edit his voice a bit to sound a little less asmathic.
