Yep they are supposed to be there, they just put a black wash on him like they did with classics grimmy.

Mine had those too, until last night after I read this topic. I used a tiny amount of rubbing alcohol and they came right off without incident. However, do NOT apply any alcohol to the tabs which cover his hands in copter mode. I wiped once, and now I've got a black splotch on one tab where the blue paint used to be. Everything else seems to be unaffected.

Is Blackout painted blue? I thought it was a blue-based plastic with no painting.

Yep, those tabs are painted; they are not the molded color plastic like the rest of the body. You can actually feel the paint on the tabs just by rubbing them.

Mine doesnt have the smudges so maybe it was in a later production of the piece that got this "highlight" :P

I picked up Blackout yesterday, and yeah, he's got smudges, too. I do believe, however, that they're meant to be there to give it more of a "used" look.
