This looks really sharp! I can picture setting it up with the Galactic Odyssey Botropolis set. The colors would all line up nice and make for a gorgeous mini-base display.
I love Siege Astrotrain, so I'll be happy to pick up this mold again.

I really like the look but no, this doesn't work as Galaxy Shuttle. I'm not sure if I want it.

Definitely getting, definitely not ever going into the abysmal train mode. Shuttle mode is a little more acceptable since Galaxy Shuttle wasn't exactly modeled off a real NASA shuttle. Autobots are definitely winning the toy space race these last 5 years or so between Sky Lynx, two Micromasters, Omega Supreme, the Ark, Cosmos, and Galaxy Shuttle versus just Astrotrain.

So I guess Hasbro doesn't consider anything after 1990 as part of the G1 universe?

Victory came out in 1989, and is definitely part of the original Transformers series. Everything from 1984-1992 is. Dosen't matter if it was toy, print media, or animation, or what part of the world it came from. However, Hasbro probably just wants to differentiate it for "reasons".

I'm guessing to avoid confusing Americans who didn't grow up with Japanese-exclusive shows, seeing as Hasbro is acting like Japanese-exclusive characters have never been represented by them before despite figures like CW Liokaiser existing.

That said I'm unfortunately passing up on this attempt at a great TF and a not so great representation and if we are lucky :HASBRO:

I just realised I should finally get that one redeco of Classics Astrotrain that represents both Shouki and the Thunder Arrow...that way I can have both shuttles from the Victory cartoon! :lol:

Looking at the Victory primary cast page on the wiki, we are slowly but surely getting the bots in there.

Autobot wise, we have Star Saber, Victory Leo, Galaxy Shuttle, Greatshot, Holi, and Fire, So we just need the other half of the Micromasters, and then the 2 combiners. As for the cons, should we actually get Dinoking from the core Dinobots, we would have some representation of the entire primary con cast save Deathsaurus in a proper standalone release (we technically have that Botcon toy and Liokaiser torso, but I am not counting either since one is a hard to get old exclusive and the other has no Deathsaurus robot mode)

Huh odd... I'm not a premium member, but when I went online at 7am PST (about 30 minutes ago), it was available for me to order on Pulse, but I didn't want to seeing as how I can get aditional points if I order with my Walmart Card (and Walmart was saying out of stock on the pre order).

Now its the opposite, which is good, and what I wanted anyway ;)^

. Hopefully Walmart doesn't screw their pre-orders up this time... or get them months after they arrive in store.

I do realize you said "primary" cast, but the Decepticon Cast of Victory was very small. Only 2 you didn't mention were the Mega Pretenders. SkyBlack Shadow we got in TR, so that just leaves Blue Bacchus, which would probably only ever happen if we got a new Crossblades first.

These are going in and out of stock at random, so keep checking. Galaxy Shuttle was OOS at first, but then I checked a few minutes ago, and it was available. As of this moment looks like Crasher, Shadowstrip and Hot Rod are OOS, but that can change...hopefully because I'd like to get Shadowstrip if possible.

Well looks like Hasbro partly answered my question as to what the Transformers version of a retro line would be like with these new collector con items. We are getting a Hot Rod and Starscream and while they are the G1 molds, they are being offered in brand new decos inspired by the movie. So yeah, you are finally getting a magenta Hot Rod. And they are being released in the velocitron style of closed box which we saw for the velocitron leader class toy. They are $33.99 each.

Are G1 toy in new decos a thing you fans would like to see Hasbro pursue?

We also have the reveals/preorders of the 4 new toys for Velocitron wave 2: Hot Rod toy deco, Shadowstrip, Crasher and Galaxy Shuttle.

Something feels very odd about the original G1 toys being redecoed to be more show-accurate. At the same time maybe this'll help 80's kids finally have their toys look like the 'bots they saw on the screen! :lol:
