Importing the toy will no doubt cost more than U.S. retail, but you can guarantee it will be far less expensive than paying scalper prices on the secondary market.

I saw that but couldn't find a link to purchase/preorder

Galaxy Shuttle never showed up at US Retail, but at least could be pre-ordered on Walmarts website as well as Hasbro Pulse (My pre-order with Walmart shipped relatively incident free).
Whereas Cosmos only showed up at U.S. retail in extremely limited quantities, there was no functional way to order on Pulse, or on Walmarts website.
I'm just trying to assist others. Personally I dont need/want a cosmos in my collection, but I get why he is so popular. Heck I honestly feel like I won the lottery in that I was actually able to find a single G2 Shadowstrip at a local Walmart one time. Never saw Cosmos or Crasher.

It's an EX so it'll almost certainly be a Takara Tomy Mall exclusive. This past week was Golden Week (a week long Japanese holiday) so I wouldn't expect pre-orders until Monday at the earliest.
Personally I'm more interested in seeing if they get Galaxy Shuttle since Walmart botched that release so badly in the US.

Galaxy Shuttle is globally available, to the point where he is available at cost on eBay from international sellers. I doubt it would be cheaper to get the takara release

We've been over this before, there hasn't been a single one sold at cost since we realized Walmart was stiffing us on the release. Nearly all of the BIN ones on eBay right now surpass $125 after shipping, the majority are $150+ and there's only one action that's currently at $100 with 19 hours to go. Looking at sold listings over the past month only two sold around $85, the rest have been $100+ but usually well above that. I'm sure I can do better than that buying directly from TTM using a shipping service. I'd rather go without than pay more than double for what's supposed to be a retail release.

By at cost I mean including global shipping. I can go to the store right now and get you a galaxy shuttle and ship it to you and my total cost would be between 100 and 125 USD.

Same. Cosmos I can kind of understand after hearing about the case pack ratio and distribution F*up for the U.S. market.
Crasher on the other hand was in a second wave and seemed to suffer the same issues as Cosmos. Neither one was available for online orders for very long at all, and I never saw either in store.
Now Cosmos was a little more of a priority for me as a G1 fan as I wasn't that big into Gobots, so I didn't mind paying extra for him. But I'd still like to get get Crasher as I really liked the looks of the bot and was one of the only characters I kind of liked in the show. I'm just not interested enough to pay more than retail for this particular bot.
This is the release for Japan, who haven't gotten these toys yet at all.Till-all-R1 wrote:I'd like a chance to get Crasher, and I don't plan to pay $60 and up for it!
I'm curious though, why they are tentivly releasing them in the Asian market when it was the U.S. market that had limited availability? When I look at listings on ebay about half of them are from China. IMO more Exclusives simply mean continued higher prices.
