with a Trailer actually cost last time it was released in the US.
The 25th Anniversary was $69.99, 10 years ago. That's
$85 USD today. Would people preffer paying that if they included the trailer?
Here is our original Seibertron new story from back in the day:

I understand the resistance to the price. In fact, I'd say it's more the incompleteness of the product & price combination. Even adjusting for inflation, I doubt a full Optimus Prime would cost $85 USD today, considering the Devaststor set was only $75, and Prime as a whole logically should never cost more than a combiner giftset, during any time period. I believe the TRU Commemorative Series version in 2002 was $40 or $50???-That was the last one I purchased.
That 25th anniversary version also came with a reproduction comic (retail cost probably $3-$4), and DVD, which WAS sold on its own at a retail price of $10 (I know DVD's devalue over time, but in 2009, this was a standard price for a DVD of that type) and extra packaging. A Full on Optimus Prime reproduction faithful to the original one, with original style packaging I could easily see for $65-70 even in todays market.
