In other news, that Seacon set has always been tempting. I love me some late 80s G1 colors.

I would PREFER the Takara Collection one, it comes with the fist for G1 Optimus to hold that Megatron!! And spring loaded missiles that are the right length. But $35 for the one at Walmart would be worth it.

Wait wait wait. YOU didn't know that?! It does come with it! And the missiles actually fire! AND the canopy and colors overall (minus the Decepticon logo on the nose) are closer to animation colors! AND AND AND the catalog/info pages are in Japanese..which I can't read..stupid lazy me.

So I work at a Wal-Mart in arizona in the back unloading trucks, and one of the packages we received for the toy department was labeled TRA G1 STARSCREAM and according to the department label, it's set to be stocked in 2 weeks.

Good news, fans are finding these on shelves at walmart (hot rod, starscream and devy) and more than only 1 at a time meaning its not just a return. We still dont have sightings from our own community yet so keep an eye out and please report to us with a photo if you find these in the wild.

When these reissues were announced, I knew I had to get Devy and SS. I wasn't as excited about the others, especially the minibots. But I have to say, the minibots are pretty fun. I'm glad I got Swerve and even Outback. They're just little bundles of joy in alt mode. I just need to get my hands on Tailgate, which is proving to be quite elusive.

We have some great news for you Americans. While it did not seem likely at one point, with all G1 reissues being fond online only in the US for over a month, we have some definite proof that these Walmart exclusive reissues will indeed be found on Walmart shelves. According to some sightings from across the internet that is even already the case. Our own LordPrime99, who works at Walmart, sent us an image of cases that will be placed on shelves in two weeks. These are cases of G1 Starscream, who comes six per case. This is the same time that the Bumblebee movie figures should be found on the same shelves, adding to the 80s theme of that film.

Fans have been dying to see these appear in stores so if you do find them, let the community know through our forum where you can report for stores in your state.

So basically, any of these items spotted on a toy shelf at walmart prior to October 1 is a result of employees not paying attention or not caring...It would be interesting to see what percentage of stores follow the direction. Surprisingly I think WM is starting to take a small chance on higher price point toys in the absence of TRU, most notably the Marvel Legends Infinity Gauntlet that sells for $99, I've seen a number of them at walmart lately.

How much is the Devastator set retailing for? I may get that if I see one, and can put it on layaway.

The sad part is, possibly as some WM exec may fear, being a high-end collectible, they don't seem to be selling well, (most collectors that wanted these probably got them online) especially since the "kiddie" $20 gauntlet is right next to it. I saw one store with a shelfspace for Thor's Hammer, but haven't actually seen any in the store.

I *hope* the classics sell well. I don't plan to go all out on them like I did back in 2002 with the TRU ones, no way to get those all back again. But I'd be down for more original series combiner box sets, many of which have not been re-released (Stuntacons, Protectabots, Technobots etc...)

As much of a fan I am of the original series, these Walmart reissues just don't spark that same level of excitement that the commemorative series at TRU did for me back in 2001/02. Of course it's nice to see a few different ones, such as Devastator, which i might still get depending on how easy it is to obtain...
