But that means they are about to get it in. So it should start being available to buy directly too assuming they get more in than what the preorders use up.

In other words, he's about to actually be released. As was the case with SWII and SS and BB & Sam.

Once they started fulfilling pre-orders those two were available for direct purchase.

I wouldn't put too much faith in that date. Mine says October 5th. So did Pipes and Slammer until an hour ago. granted we know about the wave 4 case changing and Tigratron being the next Voyager due out, but I would still consider that date a placeholder until you get an update from Amazon.

For the inaccuracy of Terrosaur, his transformation in the show was pretty much physically impossible.

I think this is a pretty good attempt at it. If you are so annoyed by the wings, you can always just pop them off in robot mode and fold the stubs onto his back.

The original toy transformation is not even close to the cartoon. Also Hasbro is not Tony Stark. ;)

Terrosaur has no wings in robot mode. his legs just sprout out of nowhere, while his pteranodon claws impossibly shrimp onto his robot toes.
The only thing it gets right is the rump chest.

There is no such thing as a cartoon accurate Terrosaur in our 3 dimensional world.

I agree, an MP would get closest...but would pay for it.

We'd be better off with agreeing what compromises we can agree on. I for one, don't care about animation accurate transformation.

Agreed. I think this attempt is pretty darn close in both modes to what it should look like. You can even get him in a pteranodon sitting post. And the fax chest gives e him the robot look he needs.

Of course, I was always bothered by the fact that his beast mode could hover in the cartoon, his beast legs weren't connected to his wings in the toy, and he was incapable of touching the ground with his wings in either iteration.

Saw the Hasbro pre orders sold out and panicked, good thing Amazon still had theirs at 2.

I can agree with the complaint that a character like Terrorsaur should be a mainline figure, especially when we have repacks like Arcee taking placeholders in the line, but I also bet Amazon wanted a strong mainline character that was at least one guaranteed sale. Hopefully he is widely available to get in the East

As to before big a retool, yeah I get the feeling, but this is to me an awesome figure and the fake tail makes a passable chest. Better than robot bird head chilling at least.

Second the idea to put another higg by e on the wings to fold them behind him. A fake set of wings a la TR Mindwipe would give you the bot mode sillohuette from the cartoon

I guess the best we can say about why Terrorsaur is an exclusive instead of a mainline release is most likely because he probably was never supposed to be made in the first place, having never been part of the original plans for the Kingdom line.

I pre-ordered the kingdom deluxe wave 4 grouping on BBTS yesterday when it was listed with Pipes and Slammer. Today they changed the listing and instead of Pipes and Slammer there are secret characters listed in the place of Pipes and Slammer.

I attempted to find out what was going on. Despite the fact that Pipes and Slammer were a part of my order yesterday, BBTS won't confirm that today. Although apparently it's ok if cancel my order.

Funny thing, I was debating with myself on whether to buy all 4 figures individually or the entire wave together. I figured, what was the harm on pre-ordering the wave; It was a little less expensive too. Apparently ordering an entire wave on pre-order is the incorrect choice because BBTS reserves the right to change what's in the wave and change the consents of the listing entirely and say the only course of action is to cancel your order or accept the items that you didn't actually agree to pay for.

Commentary:
I keep trying to buy from vendors that aren't Amazon, because monopolies are bad and treating the staff is good; even though Amazon's customer service is amazing. I have to say, BBTS is not Amazon.

I'm pretty sure BBTS just jumped the gun using the original wave 4 case breakdown instead of the revised one that is actually being delivered. Pipes and Slammer were moved to wave 5 and replaced with Paleotrex and Tracks re-issues in wave 4. I'd cancel now.

That's an interesting point and while I can empathize with mistakes my point is different.

It's a question of moral and legal ethics. Is it morally ok or even legally ok to change someone's order? BBTS and I entered into an agreement. I pose that changing that agreement is ethically wrong and charging me for something I didn't agree to purchase is legally wrong. I also pose that ignoring their mistake and having the customer take action to correct the mistake is unethical.

Now I don't doubt that someone on Hasbro's payroll messed up it seems to me there were mistakes all around.

I Don't care at all about all that Golden Disk nonsense... Appart for Terrosaur. He's too important to pass.

So I will not wait for him to pop in at Amzon.ca and I'm preordering at Amazon.com now. In the meantime, if he appear on the Canadian site, I can always cancel my American order.

On the legality point, I won't even pretend to know the answer there. I would guess they have some blanket statement buried somewhere in the item listing itself or possibly even their pre-order guidelines, or they would simply resolve it by accepting them back for a full refund including shipping. As for morality, that left the business world ages ago. It is simply more cost effective to say I'm sorry and issue a refund than try to proactively reach out to customer when something on a order might have changed.

Hasbro is ultimately the root cause as they did not reveal wave 4 until it had already hit retail (Walmart) and the online retailers were held back by this.

Yep, Hasbro probably saw how well Kingdom was doing so they probably cobbled something together for Terrorsaur and put Tarantulus and Inferno in the next line.

I'm sorry, there's nothing immoral or illegal going on here. It would have been good customer service for BBTS to notify you proactively, but that they didn't is not a moral failing and certainly doesn't qualify for any legal remedy.

I apologize that you're not getting the toy you wanted when you wanted it that everyone knew was listed an error, but if you're looking for a professional to help you with it, I would recommend a therapist before an ethicist or lawyer.

Yeah, Terrorsaur was never in any of the promotional artwork, if I recall. Other characters that were eventually dropped, like Gears and Polar Claw, made it into that promotional poster for Kingdom, but not Terrorsaur. When Hasbro and Takara realized early on the demand for Terrorsaur once Kingdom was revealed, they probably just took the easiest route to put out some version of the character within the line, and reskinning the Airazor mold was it. To be quite honest, most of this Golden Disk collection feels rushed compared to the variety we got with the Galactic Odyssey collection of Earthrise. At least all of those sets contained multiple characters.

At the same time, the Galactic Odyssey Collection itself felt like a last minute addition to Earthrise, getting in some figures that felt like they were meant for the main line but got shoved around thanks to Covid (Ratchet, specifically) while the rest were just simple redecos meant to pad out that subline.

Though, Barricade was ostensibly supposed to be Selects before he, like Ratchet, got moved into that subline.

I think it also bears mentioning that these promotional pics of Terrorsaur don't have his wings transformed correctly in robot mode. They're just sticking straight out, not using any of the folding joints to tab them into the back and shorten the wingspan as on the Airazor and Skywarp uses of the mold.

Just read the complete story of the Golden Disk Collection from start to end and it's.... decent I guess. Needed more fleshing out of the characters but it's a decent self-justification of these four box sets, springboarding off of an established event in canon and then setting out to undo it, an anti-What If story. Cute, but Terrorsaur is still the only one I'm interested in.

The wings are clearly folded in here.

I work the overnight shift at my job. I'm usually asleep when these Golden Disc exclusives are revealed, so In set my alarm for 12:59 PM so I could make sure I was logged into Pulse. Got one of each of them. 8-)
Not caring about scale since 1984. Just like Hasbro.

Exactly. They've probably designed a lot more figures than we've ever seen released for WFC. Unlike the other figures in this series Terrorsaur is more than just a repaint with a new head, that takes time whether he was already part of the mold from the start or came later.

Now let's see if his release means we'll get a proper Fractyle/Packrat two pack and a Selects Lazorbeak.
