War for Cybertron Kingdom Discussion The Beasts Return!
Re: War for Cybertron Kingdom Discussion The Beasts Return!
Kingdom found in the Penticton Walmart in BC. The stand was full, but no rattrap or Megatron. The sign said 29.97, and I didn't think much of it, until I checked out... Primal and Cyclonus both came in at 29.97! That probably won't last long...

Here's hoping Kingdom Tracks' flight mode will be better than RTS Tracks' flight mode.

That was one aspect where the new toy fell far short of its G1 counterpart.

Honestly, if Tracks isn't just a slightly simplified version of the MP, I'll be shocked. That figure works fairly well and I could see how it could be simplified to be a deluxe class while still maintaining the flight mode being well done

I think its instead going to be the G1 toy with articulation.

I was expecting a heavy retool of Wheeljack or Sunstreaker, but I think its more likely going to be a new mold. They can get their money's worth out of select repaints from it.
But yers, its one of the figures I'm looking for ward to from Kingdom the most,.
If BBTS could just get Primal and Cyclonus in already so I can ship the pile of loot, it would be great.

I got Blackarachnia today, and she's another great figure. The robot mode is near flawless (except they messed up the paint on her face, some of the yellow has gone into the grooves on her cheeks), and I don't mind too much that the spider mode isn't show accurate. The transformation from robot to spider is a bit of a pain, but it's made worse by the instructions being really hard to understand in parts. I never had any Blackarachnia toys when I was a kid, and the Takara Legends LG-EX Blackwidow sadly hasn't aged well, so I'm happy that Kingdom has knocked it out of the park with their version.

So I managed to find a leader megs today, and he is absolutely amazing, but I feel the need to post a PSA about his 'hide'. The entire figure is covered in a rubbery feeling material and can be prone to easy stressing and warping when you have to fold certain panel onto themselves (example: I messed up the small panel the connects the tail sections together above his left forearm) so just be extra careful when handling this figure to make sure the panels fold properly

I am not a G1 fan, please treat my opinions as such.

My Target finally got the Kingdom core class in, and I was disappointed by how small Rattrap is. If there are no plans for a deluxe figure, I might have to pick up the Generations deluxe.

Rattrap is also a pass for me as I already have the T30 version and like it. Id definitely recommend it. I just realized that each of the 3 WFC lines will now have a T30 bot that withstood the newcomer. T30 Chromia stayed in my collection and I sold of the Siege Chromia. I have T30 Arcee and never bothered with the ER mold.

Oddly enough that is the same reason he works for me. I have no connection to Beast Wars, so scaling doesn't really bother me there. My only real connection to the character is from the previous IDW run where he was pretty much the same size as Scoop. So T30 is a good enough version for my tastes.
Although I may end up giving Kingdom a try eventually. We is a first waver, which means he is likely to be repacked again in a later wave, and by extension likely shelfwarm a bit, especially if Walmart still dosn't carry the class and Target predictably over orders wave 1 (my store still has Firedrive on the pegs).

He's too big for them, too. The only toy he sizes up to is the original Ultra class Optimus Primal, who was himself always out of scale with everybody since Optimus was never a giant in the show until he got his Optimal body.

It was a part of his leg, the part made out of that orange-gold plastic, it was I believe an entire half of the knee joint broke off, but this was years ago

Those shin parts are reportedly overly tight overall, so it's easy to put too much force in it to get it moving, breaking it instead or the tightness just forces breaks on their own. FYI it's not gold plastic, it's orange painted gold and the plastic itself a flat color so it shouldn't be GPS (they break even with careful handling or just on their own).
Regardless, the fact T30 seems easy to break makes me look into Kingdom Vermin more and more, alongside Primal and Megs. I got Universe 2003 Optimus Primal and BM T-Wrecks, so I'm already familiar with the original molds.

Since Kingdom leader Prime is just the ER version, does that mean the insides of his lower legs are gray and not blue?
But this is the case for the Netflix version? I saw Kingdom Prime at Target today and the product shot on the back show that most of his lower legs are blue.

Rendered promo shots of ER Prime has the panel as blue as well. I can't find any examples easily (I think most retailers just added Kingdom Prime stock to the ER Prime stock) so I can't see if that's what you're talking about.
I think the Netflix Prime has blue panels because of the lack of gangmolded trailer (unless they did a post-ER mold modification).

Netflix version inner leg panel is blue, yes, that is one of the reasons I went for that toy instead of the standard release.
Kingdom Leader Prime retains the grey
