Dangit.
Slammer might just be the best weaponizer loadout of the lot. Shoulder cannons, a decent boot, and chainsaw weapon all look good and reasonably likevthey were designed to go on another figure. I didnt want to biy this, nd I skipped Sixgun, but this looks really nice

I totally agree with those who loved weaponizers/modulators/fossilizers, those really were the hightlight of this line.
I think Terrorsaur is pretty good. Could have been better if he had been his own mold, but I guess he's just not popular enough.
Also, the product description on Amazon has the last paragraph of the story duplicated! Does that mean there is an actual last paragraph that is missing?

Immortal Starscream wrote:also just read the full golden disk story on terrorsaur's amazon page. sad ending.
Actually, the ending is sort of brilliant and only really sad for Terrorsaur. Puffer was jetissoned in the pod with everyone else on the Nemesis. Assuming they were successful in preventing the quantum surge, Road Ranger, Jackpot/Sights and mutant Tigratron perish in the explosion, which really doesn't matter because they should just revert to their previous forms before ever being pulled into the vortex. Terrorsaur goes back to being a puddle of lava, Huffer and Pipes are each their original selves again, Jackpot can't transform anymore, Sights is a rifle again and Tigratron is just Tigratron. But since Puffer was jettisoned and survived, we get a new weird character that is a fusion of 2 other existing ones.
Clearly the next step in this story is the wacky adventures of Huffer, Puffer and Pipes.

Was really hoping they would have at least gone the Cheetor/Tigatron route of using a the deluxe engineering as a template for a larger voyager via Airazor (I would have preferred an original mold altogether but Hasbro gonna Hasbro.)Not to mention this means he won't have the shoulder rockets he used in the show. (Terrosaur was never one of my favorites, in fact I thought he was a weaker/less endearing version of Starscream in many respects, but he's still a season 1 character who deserved better than just a retool of a smaller sized Airazor.)I did preorder him of course (better to get it now than regret it later) but still a little disappointed.
Terrorsaur was a smaller Predacon as a toy and as a cartoon character. I'm not rigid on scale, but a Voyager would have felt very wrong. I think this is as good as I expected given the scale.

Of the three, I think Weaponizers were by far the best. I have all of the Fossilizer molds, but the only weapon or armor I like from those is the Wingfinger bow. That said, I like all of them as bots and alt-modes first, so the partforming is just a nice bonus. Who imagined that would be a common take in this franchise?
Ironically, Siege was by far my favorite line even though I've swapped out most of those toys for their Earthrise and Kingdom retools. I was excited by Cybertronian modes more than when the game tie-in bots came out, and the play features were good too.

The animators ignored the tininess of his toy and basically switched sizes between him and Scorponok.

Ironically, given how small Scorponok and Waspinator's toys came out, he might still end up being the second tallest Predacon

Looks like Amazon got the memo from Hasbro on wave 4. They just pushed Pipes back on me to January. I'm assuming I'll be getting one for Slammer soon as well.

Just caught another oddity. The listing says Terrorsaur includes "Golden Disk (Voyager)", but the Golden Disk depicted in the stock photos is the alien one.

ok, cool you were able to pre-order it. It's just not available to the general public then at this time, probably because they only have enough to fill pre-orders from months ago.

Re: War for Cybertron Kingdom Discussion The Beasts Return!
I was afraid Terrorsaur would be worse (Wingfinger retool), but hoped he would be better (mostly new mold with some Scorponok engineering in the transformation). This is... an acceptable improvement over the original toy.

Is it? The toy would have already been loads better if they followed the original BW transformation scheme and replaced Airazor's birdhead by the pteradon tail, and the birdtail by the pteradon head*.
Instead we are left with a transformer in which the only relevant step is "flip up the head".
*Yes, I do understand that would have required some adjustment to the rest of the transformation as well. I do think those would have been relatively painless, and would have left us with a better result than this.

Wait, how does the faux chest make both modes look inaccurate? The purpose of a faux part is to make the mode it’s featured in MORE accurate, sometimes at the expense of the other mode(s), but always as a shortcut to a more difficult (or impossible) engineering process for the conversion, like size, shape, or color shifting of a part between modes, or as a means of avoiding “partsforming.” The faux chest makes Terrorsaur’s robot mode look more accurate, not less. The beast mode is the only part that suffers for it. Yes, it duplicates the “rump” section of the beast mode on the chest, but it’s mostly hidden by how the figure stands in beast mode. At least it’s not a situation like with Maximal Skywarp where he magically has two eagle heads prominently visible in robot mode!
His robot mode is already innacurate due to the wings (as us Airazors to a lesser extent). So adding a fake chest which is apparent in beast mode (now having 2 back parts visible) makes him innacurate in beast mode as well. So, Terrorsaur is innacurate in both modes.

I can see what you mean about neither mode being accurate, but your wording in the news post suggests that the faux chest is the cause of the inaccuracies in both modes, where as that is only really the case for beast mode and it is in fact other features that detract from the accuracy of robot mode.
The retooling done here is pretty minimal, unfortunately, in terms of the actual transformation. I wish they had at least found a way to turn the wings upside down like in the original toy, since the very presence of the wings on his back in robot mode is already inaccurate to the cartoon character model. It might as well be accurate to something of the original, right? Maybe in a few years, we can get a better Terrorsaur, at the Voyager price point, so they can add a bit of height and a lot more intricacy to the figure to get a more show accurate look with a better transformation scheme that doesn’t have to rely on faux parts. The Airrazor mold is a great starting point, but they needed to find a way to rotate the robot torso 180 degrees front to back and maybe even partsform the wings to get all the beast kibble in the right places.

But that means they are about to get it in. So it should start being available to buy directly too assuming they get more in than what the preorders use up.
In other words, he's about to actually be released. As was the case with SWII and SS and BB & Sam.
Once they started fulfilling pre-orders those two were available for direct purchase.
For the inaccuracy of Terrosaur, his transformation in the show was pretty much physically impossible.
I think this is a pretty good attempt at it. If you are so annoyed by the wings, you can always just pop them off in robot mode and fold the stubs onto his back.
