That is the point I am making. Some fans still don't understand that SS86 are just Kingdom toys that had to be shifted to another line for *budget reasons*. Case In point- the person hoping for a *Better* Galvatron in SS86. Most of us understand what is taking place with these lines in this calendar year, but not everybody does.
Basically there are 3 types of people.
1. Most fan here who understand what is going on, and are ok with it.
2. Fans who don't understand the purpose of the SS86 line, (thinking/hoping some characters will have representation in both Kingdom and SS86)
3. And people like myself (or I could be the only one for all I know) who understand it, but just think it was a poor decision on Hasbro's part.
AcademyofDrX wrote:I don't think anyone promised that all of the Dinobots in Leader class in SS86, just that they were all coming. There will be other toy lines in other years and I imagine that'll include a new Galvatron, but I would not bet on a new mold in SS86 by 2023.

That said, I'm genuinely happy with the figure. Galvatron's size and girth make him a formidable foe. I was worried he'd be dwarfed compared to Magnus. Still hoping Open and Play or another 3rd party will clean him up and do a proper leader figure.

Rodimus Prime wrote:I know, right? He's the same size as TR Galvatron! He looks thicker, so that's probably why he costs so much, but height-wise he looks to be between Optimus and Ultra Magnus. Do he'll be larger than Prime and scale well with Magnus. I'm glad to see his chest isn't as high as it first appeared. The battle damage still looks like crap, though. This will be an in-hand decision. I'm a big G1 comic fan, though, so I'll definitely get the Selects version.Lore Keeper wrote:That's a nice voyager!

It's funny that all of that has to come off so Huffer can tow Prime's trailer. At least the kibble isn't necessary for alt-mode like Warpath's shield.
I'm glad his flatter mode is the default, as my collection prioritizes the G1 cartoon and toy designs. I'll put his accessories in a bag and probably leave them there forever, just like I've done with Siege Astrotrain and Jetfire.
cruizerdave wrote:ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:Re: The new Galvatron pics... Whatever.
What we actually need is a pic of him and Rodimus Prime standing straight up, and side by side (also a better height comparison of Rodimus Prime). That is what will determine whether they're worthwhile, or whether one or even both is/are a worthless waste of money, development time, and plastic that needs to be scrapped and redone. Galvatron could turn out too big, but at least in his case there's the Titans Return figure. If Rodimus (who has no such fallback) turns out too small, which that comparison with the undersize WFC Optimus (who everybody is too dazzled by the looks of IMO) has me worried might be the case the case... I'm going to be pissed.
I'm going to tell you right now so that you're not disappointed.
Rodimus is a voyager class figure being sold at the commander class price point. Yes, he has his little pop up base that will never be used, but they're pulling the ol' "throw some extra crap in the box so we can up the price point" crap on us.
So no matter how he scales, he'll be a rip off. We're being sold a $30-$40 toy for $90 to $100.
In a way, it's our fault. We bought into the small deluxe Hot Rot being sold at the voyager class price. And as good as the figure is, it still has some flaws, but they packed in a Matrix that can't be put in his chest and a pizza cutter, so now you're paying $10 extra.
The Galvatron will be a voyager class figure sold at the leader class price point, using the justification that he comes with two space ship guns or whatever.
AcademyofDrX wrote:There's way too much salt in this thread, is this the new Unicron thread? I loved the Prime Wars trilogy, but I'm a sucker for play features and ease of transformation, where most collectors want pretty robots that look like the cartoon. Now here we are with Kingdom and SS86, with the most screen-accurate likenesses that Generations has ever seen, and there's still plenty to complain about. Maybe I'm just an easy mark, every figure they release I'm like, I love it, best toy ever, gimme.
Yeah I thought about it some and you're right. He's the right size.Flashwave wrote:Rodimus Prime wrote:I know, right? He's the same size as TR Galvatron! I started to have that thought too, but look closer: TR Galvatron is nearly the same sizeas the Magnus and Beast Megs shown in the picture, so he is a huge (and mostly hollow) Vpyager. I eould be more upset if Galvatron was same sized as the white Prime part of Mags, but he's not.
We're also getting the rest of the Dinobots (save Slash, but that's to be expected, as much as I want her) as Leaders. And yes, 86 Starscream and Bumblebee Starscream are different figures.Munkky wrote:If I had to guess, I'd say maybe three or four waves in total, that would cover the majority of movie characters we're not getting in Kingdom. I remember hearing leaks about Voyager Swoop, Starscream (though this was a while ago so they may have been talking about Bumblebee Movie Starscream), a Sweep and a Junkion. After those we're pretty much covered, unless you want to go really abstract like a Prowl with orange light piping and smoke effects you can attach to his eyes and mouth.

SS86 Starscream is said to be a retool of ER Starscream with his coronation getup included.Chriphord wrote:Autobot N wrote:We're also getting the rest of the Dinobots (save Slash, but that's to be expected, as much as I want her) as Leaders. Would they just be re-releasing ER Starscream under the 86 or release a new mold? I can't imagine them having two different molds of the same iteration of a character at the same time even if they are under different toylines. And if they were to release a Screamer under that line, I would imagine they would have to make it a leader due to the coronation getup being required.

I also don’t consider it complaining when someone explains why they don’t have any interest.
My critique doesn’t completely take away from my excitement for this figure... It’s not all or nothing.
I think it’s very possible that SS86 could continue beyond this year, even if just for a bit.
I won’t be shocked if it doesn’t, but as far as I can tell & have heard, this isn’t exactly a line that’s put out a bunch of pegwarmers. No one ever agrees with everything Hastak does, & yeah, sometimes there are seemingly questionable decisions... But for the most part they know what they’re doing. And I’d say I his line is evidence.
No, I don’t know for sure, but sales have to be at least decent.
If the banner doesn’t continue, I could see something totally new being born because of SS86. Even a sub-line that is considered part of a new Generations line.
Here’s what I’m hoping for past Kingdom:
A Generations line that dips into different series; updates for more BW, Cybertron, & Armada, & even BMachines... Instead of keeping the SS86 line going, 1 maybe 2 G1 characters per wave that are made purely based on cartoon/movie accuracy (with no gimmicks), carrying on the quality of SS86.
Now do I think this is realistic? Ehhhhhhh... Who knows.
Otherwise, I see another line based on a gimmick...
Which is cool I guess, just means I’ll take another hiatus & consider adding to my MP collection.
Well she was a velociraptor, right? So would you be satisfied with a red and gray Kingdom Dinobot with a new head? That wouldn't be much of a stretch for Hasbro. Highly doubtful, though.Autobot N wrote:(save Slash, but that's to be expected, as much as I want her)

My preference would be a ER Cliffjumper-style deluxe, maybe with some extra accessories like Grimlock's sword to pad it out a bit. Never gonna happen, though.Rodimus Prime wrote:Well she was a velociraptor, right? So would you be satisfied with a red and gray Kingdom Dinobot with a new head? Yeah, I guess that would be closest to accurate scale-wise, as raptors were supposedly almost human-sized.Autobot N wrote:My preference would be a ER Cliffjumper-style deluxe, maybe with some extra accessories like Grimlock's sword to pad it out a bit.
