That looks really nice. Probably gonna catch up on Brawl/Swindle during TF Con in a couple weeks, maybe there's hope Vortex is there too?

oh man..... this is the first piece of WB ive been interested in... but that looks so F$&@ING NICE it makes me want to jump on the bandwagon! i cant even explain it, but their vortex hits everyone of my happy buttons!

I think this is the 4th piece - Blast Off, Brawl, and Swindle have already been announced/released.

yup. gonna make this work for classics, dont care about scale for this set anymore. My Decepticon shelf needs more bulk anyways. This and Ordin will be nice!!

im an all or nothing kinda guy. and vortex almost had me willing to buy all of WB.... but i always display my combiners combined. so what good will my lovely vortex be stuck as an arm for the rest of eternity? i think ill buy him as a stand alone piece.

The weakest of the set so far in my opinion. The robot mode would be perfect if it wasn't for the orange canopy on the chest, but gunship mode is pretty poor overall. The oversized nose cannon and droopy, undersized rotor blades really make this look like a caricature.

I agree vortex is the dud of the bunch. From the annoying energon cockpit chest to the cartoony copter mode with the funny looking gun in the front, vortex seems off. Not a total failure, but definitely the weakest link. Fortunately, the scale ruined this set for me (and many others) so Ill be saving some money. FP bruticus lives on...

Man, I just scoured the web for comparison pics, and with Rex and Uranos being so close in height, and that pic of Warbotron and Rex with the extended legs being close, I'm d@mn tempted to pull the trigger on these guys.

Holy crap, Rex looks AWFUL with the legs extended that far... I don't think Warbotron is worth the effort and aesthetic discord of distorting & contorting my other combiners, just for the sake of scale.

I agree that Vortex seems like a weak link, but only because he's a "one of these is not like the others" figure - Blast Off, Brawl, and Swindle all share a very similar body type and have near identical proportions. Vortex does not. Plus, between the helicopter features and the voluminous line details, I think Vortex is much busier than the other 3.

Well, now I think I might have to replace my partsform-a-riffic, floppy FP Bruticus...

The only weak point in the line so far is Vortex's copter mode, which looks...odd. The drooping rotors and funny nose-gun just looks a bit weird. Still, it does kinda remind me of something from Metal Slug, so that's cool.

Also, Brawl, Onslaught and Vortex will actually be to proper scale with my other figures! Swindle and Blast Off might not be, but IIRC Humvees are quite big things, and Blast Off will never be in scale with anything unless he drops that ridiculous space shuttle mode.

Here's a standard military Humvee. They can be built/customized a bit bigger.

For the shuttle, I wouldn't mind the X-37B. I think it's significantly smaller than the Space Shuttles

y'know, thats something that always bugged me about the blast-off scale issue. if anyone can take a space shuttle and cut it to the quarter of the size, its an advanced alien race of robots from space. i get we arent advanced enough to have that kind of technology, and they have to fit in (disguise and all) but to me disguise goes out the window when you put giant decepticon symbols on your wings anyways.

That's exactly why I think Fansproject did a great job conceiving their Crossfire set: they made Blast Off's alt mode an unmanned drone, not a shuttle. Not that I'm getting Warbotron, but it would have been nice if they had taken the same tack.

Think FP should just create the other Three Combaticons. All they need is Two more Deluxes and one Voyager Onslaught. If FP does this, It'll be my ideal Update Combaticons-Bruticus toy.

I'm fine with Onslaught though(all he needs is a new head), so even if they only do an update to Brawl/Vortex, I'm fine with it.

I think it's to late in the game for all that now . I reckon either MT will do there own Bruticus and Superion if not FP might just start from scratch .

Honestly I'm happy with the Energon molds in FP Bruticus. Most of my troubles have been with the add-on parts (notably the shoulder blocks and the joints on the 2 limb-bots.

I'd kinda like to see TFC do Combaticons. I think TFC's "style" would suit them very well.

bruticus and superion i bet will get some attention from MT someday. my FP bruticus is still great, but the superion upgrade wasnt enough, and TFC's superion just aint for me.

if someone like FP or MT made those two from scratch in the scale i like, id probably be all over it.
