I wasn't particularly impressed with WFC Megatron as a figure but I had to buy one to display with
WFC Optimus Prime. A lot of details on this mold are wrong so painting for accuracy to the game trailer was nearly impossible but I've done the best I can.
I was disappointed to discover that what I thought was his elbow was only a transformation joint. This meant that his elbow was further up the arm than where I wanted it and he had no bicep swivel. With some tricky drilling and cutting I was able to convert the transformation joint into an elbow (he now has two per arm) whilst retaining his ability to transform into a tank and a flying blob thing.
As with
WFC Optimus Prime he is shown using a mêlée weapon in the trailer that doesn't come with the toy. In order to make a true adversary for
WFC Optimus Prime I felt the need to scratchbuild a mace from... can you guess? Like all customs of mine needing extra parts I used cuttings from an ice cream tub. For the shaft I used a cotton bud (that's a q-tip for Americans) with two rhinestones, one black, one purple, to cap off the end.
For the paint I used the same techniques as with
WFC Optimus Prime:
-fine detailing with a tiny brush
-drybrushing
-paint chipping
-dirt washes
-colour blending to get the glow effect
-decals (for the faction symbol)

So why does it say in the title that Megatron likes bunnies? You'll have to look at
his gallery on
my website to find out. There are plenty more pictures of Megatron as well.
Thanks for looking!
