im always thinking about third party add-ons, upgrades, or weapons id like to see. heres just a few to kick things off:

beast wars dinobot sword:
someone (looking at you doctor wu) sorely needs to make a dinobot sword. the original is paintless and comically flaccid. we need a straight sharp pointy diecasty piece of swordy goodness! id probably buy at least four.

i have wanted an optimal megatron since that episode aired. come on! its just a head upgrade! someone out there please?



classics (voyager) OP energy axe:
dr wu (i think) made a nice diecast gun for this guy. whats missing? dat axe!

energon combaticon heads:
FP did a good job of giving us swindle and blastoff, but their G1 inspired look doesnt fit perfectly with the rest. but we dont need 3 more new molds, just make 3 new heads for onslaught, vortex, and brawl. after that i bet theyd fit in nicely. (onslaughts princess leia muffs always bugged me)

I wouldn't object to new heads for those three, if they weren't too difficult to install. (I just combined my Bruticus a few days ago and don't feel like pulling him apart to check, but those heads weren't on easy-to-replace ball joints, if memory serves.)

You know what accessory I'd like for one of my other gestalt teams? I want little trumpets for my Constructicons, à la Starscream's coronation scene in the '86 film.



If it is possible to make them compatible with both Giant and Hercules, awesome! If not, then as a Giant owner, I know where my preference for compatibility would lie.

A while back this guy from TFW made a small run of these hand painted heads. While they are not perfect, (especially Vortex) they do help a lot. I e-mailed him and tried to convince him to sell me a set, but he seemed to have no interest in doing another run. Maybe a 3rd party could pick up this idea and make them look better.










I’m also interested in a better Generations Dinobot sword. I would also like to see the purple parts KOed in blue so you could give him a cartoon accurate look without having to spend crackhead prices on the Henkei version.

Other things I want to see are:

A G1 head for Generations Orion Pax. I’m not a fan of the Optimus with a mouth look. I also would like to see a G1 Ariel head. My preference would be for Energon Arcee, but I would be open to the new Arcee getting an Ariel head if it comes with pink decals to cover up the white and make it look different from Arcee.





I would also like to see someone do a new head for Botcon G2 Spark/Pyro. I found this online. Im not sure if it is a custom or if somebody did a small run that I missed out on.

Now that you mention it, I've seen those myself. I remember thinking they were quite rough around the edges... But if someone made something similar with sharper molds, I could be quite interested. I do wonder, though... Does removing the guns from the side of Brawl's head effect his alt mode much?

I would not object to such a thing, myself. Although the Optimus Prime head didn't bother me as much on the Generations figure as the obvious Kup head did on the G1 figure. So glad I was able to fix that!

im surprised renderform never did a pyro head. they like making heads for botcon figures that skipped remolds...

and i get people not liking the whole prime with a mouth, but that pic of the G1 toon orion pax... those pouty lips and silly helmet... oh man... thats just goofy lol

once the chromia and arcee molds are little older, i can see them repainting the girls an infinite amount of times to get us all the fembots we need.

I'd like new heads for most 3rd party products in general. TFC's Superion, Devestator, and reflector would all benefit (except for TFC Silverbolt and the combined head). I wouldn't mind a toon inspired head for Herc that isn't the badly sculpted Crazy Devy attempt.

A G1 add-on set for Fansproject's Insecticons would be nice. I've seen some customs and would love to see that applied to the whole team.

New arms, head, and canon for Mania King. Those arm could be done better and it wouldn't affect the transformation. The canon is alright on it's own (especially on the new colored version), but I wouldn't object to one that was more toon inspired. If UT ever made a MK based ont he toy colours I'd like it to have the sandcastle head too.

Don't buy much add on kits. I'll buy a replacement head or two but it's not often.

1. Upgrade kit for DOTM Barricade to make him taller , give him new hands , bumper to fill the chest out . abdomen and crotch . classic style head based off this figures head and blasters .

I think can be done . the feet fold up into shins . the hands look like they pop off . and there is plenty of places to clip on to the feet and abs/crotch .

Yeah i want a classics Barricade pretty bad

2. A new G1 inspired head for movie/classics Seaspray with a new blaster .

3. New head for classics Warpath with weapons that can fit his hands . Maybe a cannon that fits over his fists , sort of like Gen Whirl but for both hands .



My Warpath is currently holding Igear pistols as that's the only thing he can .



4. New G1 inspired guns for TFC constructicons .

5. New FP Insecticon heads and blasters .

I know it's probably never gonna happen, but I'd have loved some stuff for Classics 2006 Megatron. I love the guy and think he's underrated. A mace, some sort of stock/silencer combo that can turn into a cannon for robot mode. It's not fair 2006 Prime got all sorts of stuff and 2006 Megatron got... a sword from Perfect Effect and kinda/sorta Laserbeak that can perch on his arm.

the mace that comes with the transformers collection #6 megatron reissue, fits in the hands of classics (gun) megatron! i want to buy a second #6 megs just for the mace, but thats awfully expensive for an accessory

The best thing they could have ever made for that Megatron is clips that allow you to remove those silly wings and reattach them only for gun mode. If the wings werent there, the figure would look so much better and 3rd parties would have made alot more accessories for him. But the wings just killed the figure. I own the United version and the 1st and only time I transformed it one of the pin hinges on the wing cracked. (United used clear plastic) It has been fixed with crazy glue but now lives life as an Action Master. I regret that purchase since buying Hegemon.

that sucks. im a big fan of the mold and have had every version so far, but never ran into that problem. musta just been bad luck

Maiden Japan did do a set of G1 insecticon guns that were mass produced. They are in stock at BBTS...

But he really designed them for the Botcon SG Junkions so you havve to slightly modify them to fit the FP Insecticons.

* Bombshells gun is a bit loose. You can add some tape to the post to make it thicker or permantly make it thicker with glue and sand it to a nice fit and paint silver.

* FP Shrapnel's hand is a little different inside than the other two. It only fits the post halfways due to the way the hand is molded inside. You can sand down the lower portion of the per handle so that one side is flat and it will slide in his hand all the way.

* Kickbacks gun fits perfect.

There are also G1 mandibles for Shrapnel and a G1 stinger for Bombshell available on Shapeways if youre good at sanding and painting layerd 3-D printer pieces. Im not so I havent bought them. But they do look good. They sell the parts individual or as a bundle. Guns are available too that look like the Maiden Japan guns.

Think the FP Protector and 1.0 Rodimus toys are in need of a update. Perhaps if a 3rd party company created a MP Hotrod toy in the Voyager scale. Maybe later, a 3rd party company can create another Protector styled trailer armor kit. To turn a voyager hotrod into a Ultra Scale Rodimus Prime toy.

Like the add on boots idea, As it increases the robot mode to a size up scale. So if 3rd parties want to create more, I'd buy them if I own the toy.

Add on boots for UT Mania king. To turn a 7.5 inch Voyager robot into a 8.5 inch Ultra scale robot.

Since 3rd parties are hot on combiners. I'd like to see other 3rd party companies create more limbs bots. either better replacements ones or newer characters ones. A idea for the MMC Predacons is to create more pretender beast-bots that become limbs bots for feral rex. Snarler, Chainclaw and carnivac. Maybe later create another torso team leader bot like ironhide the elephant. Then use catilla, snarler, carnivac, chainclaw and ironhide to form a new gestalt entity. can come up with some early origin where they were all friends before they turned factions.

Since the last 4 months of 2014 30th will be in stores in full force soon, some have hit already in small doses. I'd like to see some add ons for some of these toys.

Generation 2 Megatron replacement head to turn 30th Armada megatron into Generation 2 megatron.

Thrust replacement female cone head for 30th deluxe Windblade. to turn this toy into a thrust fembot, maybe it could be thrust's sister.

1. A translucent clear orange replacement canon barrel for Mania King.

Meh, if one becomes available, more power to you if you choose to then buy it. But personally, I think that the stock heads are pretty good.

I'm not a complete expert on such things... but would ordering in "Polished Metallic Plastic" be sufficient? Or is it just not at all the same effect as a nice chrome finish?

Fansproject made G1 guns for their Armored Battalion Insecticons. The set even includes an extra set so you can arm the original 3.

theres a 3P making that kinda hotrod/rodimus in my scale i think.

and ive been planning to get FP protector since forever, but at this point i think i might just use cloud rodimus and rodimus prime on my classics shelf. he looks pretty good and hes nice and tall.

I have clear Protector, which is good - the visible panel lines and extra details really help the set with it's outdatedness.

But I do plan on getting Cloud Rodimus, too. Nothing wrong with Rodimi.
