Va'al wrote:Moving on with my reading list for teaching. Currently on Gissing's New Grub Street.
Next up:
Nabokov - Lolita
Carter - Nights at the Circus
Dunn - Up the Junction
Cowan - Pig
Levy - Swimming Home
If I can fit them in, I'd like to finally get round to Patrick Ness' Chaos Walking trilogy.

And I want to see what my students make of it, really.

I'm not sure I know what you mean by "realist", or how a book about a flying women fits there.

It's 'magical realism'.

Is that some kind of food?
Seriously though I do read a lot, but I'm not all that familiar with literary nomenclature.
