I was born in '85, and I've pretty much always been with Transformers since I was a kid. I got a few random figures(except Deveastor G2, I went out of my way to get him) along the way, got my brother's hand-me downs, but only saw a few season one episodes and the movie.

However, I think the thing that got me hooked on collecting was three fold:

The first thing that happened was when Rhino was re-releasing VHS tapes of G1 on two episodes per tape. I got to see a whole world of characters I never knew existed. Then my brother won a lot off of E-Bay around that time that had the "complete G1 series, Beast Wars U.S., and Machines"(all unnoffical of course), and that pretty much got me caught up with the rest of G1.

However, in terms of toy collecting, finding an incomplete Metroplex and a decent condition Ultra Magnus trailer at the Flea Market about four or five years ago for fifty cents apiece. The next year(or maybe year after) I scavaged the flea market week in and week out, looking for Transformers. Had a really good summer once too.

Finally, getting Dreamwave G1 Vol. 1 #3. I was just at the comic shop getting my monthly issue of Captain America(only comic I ever collected monthly), and saw the issue on the rack, leafed through it, and said "Hey, cool". So I bought it, and was amazed at the time, and that officially got me back into the world of Transformers. Then shortly after that, I found this place, and the rest, as they say, is history.

It was seeing beast wars on t.v for the first time before school started.

After that i was asking for the toys and watching the show often. Every time I went with the folks to go shopping i was scanning the toy section for a character from the show.

Those were the days, except now i can buy when I feel like it. lol

I was a fan since 84 and had most of the toys realeased....but after the Actionmasters I lost interest.I was a fan of the Beast Wars show but I didnt collect the toys at the time they were coming out.But the first time I got a look at a Super Fire Convoy [RID Optimus Prime] at a collecters shop in china town NYC I just had to have him.After getting him I desided to collect every Prime that I missed and then Megatron.Before I new it I started collecting ant figure connect to G1 ether by look or name.....then I said what the hell and restarted my collecting full blowen.

When I bought RiD Prime for, what did he cost, $30(?) that was a big deal for me. I'd only recently started buying TFs again with the mid-to-late BW stuff (didn't buy any BM toys). Now, I've bought the reissue Predaking set, both reissue Galvatrons, G2 Laser Prime and Magnus, MP Convoy... and the list goes on.
Sure makes me nostalgic for the 'What! $30 for a TF!?' days.

Loved the G1 cartoon when I was a kid and drifted away from Transformers after the movie came out in 86'. I got back into collecting about 6 months ago after trading in a bunch of Star Wars figures to BBTS and getting Masterpiece Prime and Starscream with my trade in credit. Since then, I've purchased MP Megatron, various Alternators and G1 reissues.

G1. classics brought me back. now I've got at least a few from each line (including BW, yes). A dozen of primes, g1 reissues, G2 Megs, and rid prime/magnus/scourge are my favs. If I had to pick a line I'd say MP or BT/ALT, but classics or robot masters are really fun to play with.

I was around at the end of the beginning (I was born in '83), I had a few toys back in '88 or '89, loved the cartoon reruns and the movie. By age 12 I'd pretty much given them up to the depths of the old toybox. I was kind of sad when BW came out, it wasn't the old TF's I'd known and loved. I had a brief resurgence of interest when RiD started, but I never got around to buying any figures then, I was still in high school and had little to no income.

Finally, at the beginning of the Alternators line, I was extremely impressed by Smokescreen, and the in-progress Reissue line. I was lucky enough to pick some of the Reissues up, most of the Alts, and 20th Prime, and now I've been collecting pretty regularly since. My collection hasn't been counted in quite some time, but it probably numbers close to or over 100 pieces.

I was a big fan of G1. had most of the toys, and always wanted more. As the series drew to an end I lost interest lost the figs.

I saw a BW and kinda liked it but never got into the figures again. Beast Machnes had no impact, the figures i did not really like.

Then R.I.D reared its ugly head, and a collector Friend of mine talked me into buying a few. Bought Sideburn and Prowl But then I saw them... had seen the cartoon, they weren't as expensive as i thought, I had the cash, I just had to buy them. Fire Convoy and God Magnus where bought to form God Fire Convoy. After that, I was hooked.

I have slowed down since the Movie came out having bought only a handful of figures.

I think it was probably G1 that got me into it (but not entirely sure as I was born in '86 so earliest memories are from very early '90s). I did have some G1 toys, although they were probably the European reissues (I know my Jazz definitely was) but as I grew older I stopped liking Transformers. I got back into them though when RID was on (whoa, 5 years has gone fast). I didn't realise TF's had continued while I wasn't watching them but RID inspired me to collect the G1 toys, which then moved onto Classics and now the movie line.

Well, a year ago, my first intention was to grab the G1 prime who I couldn't get one during my childhood back then. As I see that other lines coming out especially the MP line,

I had been collecting transformers since I was about 9 (Although my first TF - G1 Starscream - was given to me at age 5 I think). I used to have a pretty large collection up until hurricane Katrina. I had about 5,000 dollars worth of G1, G2, Beast Wars and Armada figures. Sadly, that all went down the drain because my house was flooded and it all got ruined.

I guess I was a littl bitter about it, having lost such a huge investment. I called it quits on collecting because at the time I thought it was pointless. Then, after watching the new TF movie and buying a Voyager Starscream (I only planned on getting THAT one figure because SS is my favorite character), I remembered how fun collecting was. So, since July, my collection has gone from that one Starscream, to a little over 100 as soon as I get my next few figures in the mail.

It still sucks though...my collection would look so awesome with my old G1, G2, and Beast Wars guys (I didn't care too much for Armada). Damn I miss my G1 Megatron...

it started when I was about 6, I went to mcdonalds and I got an armada hotshot happy meal toy, I've liked tf ever since.

i collect G1 toys in the late 80's. after more than a decade, movie ironhide bring back the spirit in collecting TF's.

When i was younger i had seen a handful of the G1 TF show and loved it , however it wasn't until i got into Beast Wars that i started to collect and play with the transforming toys ( though i recently discovered few weeks ago that i had a Hubcap toy when i was a kid.

The Transformers movie when i saw it in theaters brought me back into collecting TF's as the Beast Machines toy line was the last that i took part in. ( i think it was thrust that was my last transforming toy) So now im back and collecting Transformers, Beast Wars etc and loving the nostalgia and how kickass these toys are.
