Yeah, but 2 issues have been out and nothing really happened. It's only a 4 or 5 issue run, right? If it will be anything like Dying of The Light, it's going to be a letdown.

Emirate Xaaron, of course. While he was a pretty big player for several arcs in the original Marvel UK comics, us over here in the States really only saw him as a nuisance to Unicron. He's been popping up occasionally in the IDW comics, especially MTMTE, but I'd love to see him take on a bigger role in the future.

Another I'd love to see would be Doublecross, as he was a pretty minor character, with the exception probably being Maximum Dinobots. Though, if the rumors are true and we're getting a Titans Return toy of him, then I could see him making a bigger appearance in upcoming media.

Nah, Stalker needs to be a Voyager at least. Really he needs to be a retool of the old Cybertron Defence Red Alert for a theoretical Universe 3.0.

I think the Headmasters a d Targetmasters are underused. And I mean the individual characters, not the gimmick. Now I haven't seen the Headmasters cartoon thanks to there not being a dvd release and the fact I can't understand Japanese (though I'd really like to learn it) so I don't know if the Headmasters had any personalities or not. But I think we should be able to learn about them individually. Spike and Daniel were the only two that we had a bit of background on, all the others we learn about in the span of about two or three episodes.

The Headmasters themselves tend to get a lot of exposure when it comes to focusing on the 1987 line - they were the focus of the Headmasters cartoon (... durr), and they are the toys most remember from that time.
And then of course, Chromedome and Brainstorm are main cast members of IDW's MTMTE right now; and in it's first few years Hardhead was a big character in the Furman-penned stories - it was part of what readers liked about it then; instead of focusing on the Season 1/2 characters everyone remembered, Furman just picked characters and toys from all over G1.

As far as I know though, the Decepticons headmasters outside of Scorponok aren't characterised much... in the Headmasters cartoon they were little more than comedy relief if I recall correctly and they haven't got much exposure since; even in IDW Mindwipe's only appeared as one of Galvatron's troops - albeit, more than most of them, but that's not saying much - and Skullcruncher cameo'd in MTMTE as a comedian. Which I love and makes me want him more.

But then the Targetmasters are ALWAYS left out. Outside of the re-used 1986 characters of the Autobot cars and Decepticon Planes; the new guys just never get any representation whatsoever. Even in terms of bio they're kind of boring; both Slugslinger and Triggerhappy suffer from the "Every Decepticon is hated by every other Decepticon, but this Decepticon? He's hated MORE than them!" that a lot of later 'cons suffered from, and Misfire... is the lucky one out, he's a Scavenger in MTMTE now and a very lovable character.
Sureshot, Pointblank and Crosshairs never really appeared much either, mind. Again, the Targetmasters always seem to be left out - to the extent that in 1988, Japan got the Small Headmasters but not the Small Targetmasters!

Talking of which, they seem to get more action than their larger counterparts - in Japan the smaller Headmasters were all main cast members; I don't think I need to tell you how loved and used Nightbeat is, Hosehead and Siren were featured in Marvel, Spinister's a scavenger, Needlenose was one of the main Decepticons in ex-RiD for a while, Scoop was also a main character, and... uh... I think everyone forgets the other ones exist tbh. But these are something I suppose.

Man, Xaaron's place in the IDW run is one that fascinates me. He seems to have been a well-respected legal expert, involved in the old Aequitas trials and Megatron's more recent trial, but has been largely irrelevant on the Lost Light itself, except for having a few key roles in memorial ceremonies and court-martials. He seems to still hold some position of, perhaps moreso legal and spiritual/moral (though not to the host-for-the-spirit-of-primus extent of the marvel run) than military, authority, but sided with the mutineers, which you'd think he might be against on principle. I often wonder if he'll have more of a role to play, or if he is now just a bloke who used to have a fancy job.
