first off, the movie was good. I loved it. but whenever i think back to the film, all I could think about was the unjustice done to my all time favorite character. I mean, poor jazz had about three lines, died a fairly gruesome death, and no one seemed to care.

I'm tryin to start a petition to get him back for number two. if it seems pretty quirky, you guys dont have to. but i know there has got to be some people that are just as upset as I am.

He was the afro-cybertronian in the movie. And the movie has roots from the 80's... Too bad for Jazz.

Yeah, the original jazz was a wise soldier who also was interested in mingling with humans like Bumblebee was.

He'd have been neat in this movie.

Jazz was so cool, he breakdanced to transform into robot mode, his first line was "'Sup bitches", and he stood up to megatron even when ratchet tried to get away.

i feel he was cheated, but bringing him back would just con people into thinking everingthing has to go right, but if it was up to me he would live

He died because he was black. That's the Hollywood way.

Odd, I never saw any of the blatant racism in the movie. You're looking too much into it.

Plus, he was always the character that used the latest lingo. He was the cool cat who can speak the talk of the streets and so on and so forth. He was Primes SECOND IN COMMAND, and a respected warrior amoung the Autobots. He was also a FEARLESS fighter. He went after Megatron without hesitation, and that is commendable despite the tragic outcome. We also had a black human soldier, and a black software hacker, who both survived through the entire movie.

How about we all think of the fact that they are ROBOTS. They don't have skin colours. They aren't black, white, asian, they're just robots.

You're asking too much of some folks, although I agree. He was SILVER anyway if you want to get technical. Them silver 'bots always get the worst treatment. All those poor Terminators and Cylons getting blown to bits...they can't help it if they are silver. Just kidding.

As for Jazz being silver, it brings up this conversation I remember hearing on Seibertron:

Poster 1 (Referring to a group that was insulting transformers, and picked out a Beast Wars figure): They only hate him because he's black.
Poster 2: Actually, he's more of a purple color.

My apologies.

Face it, Jazz had to kick the bucket. He transforms into a Pontiac Solstice, a relatively new car, when the sequel comes out, the Solstice won't really be new anymore, which is probably why we saw that whole marketing campaigne for the Solstice with Jazz and Megan Fox. Jazz was there to sell that car, this year. Next time, it'll be another character trying to sell another car.

And if anything, there weren't enough Autobots that died.

I think Ratchet should have taken part in a longer chase scene in ambulance mode, and had more combat action - then kill him. Keep only Prime, Ironhide & Bumblebee.

I dont know why people keep saying jazz was a respectable character in the movie.....it was a total embarrassment. he had no lines, his charatcer was nothing like the original, and he died no where near an honorable death.

its like the film makers didnt want to give the decipticons too much credit, so they made jazz seem like nothing.

More accurately, at what point of damage do you feel a Transformer should REALLY die?

EDIT: Wait, Megatron had the life-giving Allspark crammed in his chest.
Jazz's body was dumped in the ocean (I guess) with Megatron's body.
